A First Look at Reign’s Royal Couple
The highly anticipated second season of the CW breakout hit, Reign returns in just a little over a month. A period drama set in 16th century French court, the series chronicles the life and rise to power of Mary Queen of Scots. Season one ended with Mary’s husband, Francis off to stake claim to a land that is rightfully his, while Mary closes the castle gates locking him outside. In the first promotional cast photo below from EW, we see Adelaide Kane as Mary, sitting on a lounge chair, while her King, Francis portrayed by Toby Regbo stands by her side. He has one hand affectionately on the side of her and the other atop of her hand. Both are dressed in their royal garb and facial expressions convey anything besides a ‘happily ever after.’ Take a look at the photo for yourself below.
