Freeform wets appetites with a feast of panels and activations from hit returning series and new shows
This past weekend, geeky fans converged for New York Comic Con 2017 for cosplay, panels, activations, and parties. Television and movie networks provided much of the programming we were able to attend during this time. One of our favorites came from the fanfest gifted to us by Freeform. While delighting fans with hit series Shadowhunters and Beyond, the network also teased us with sneak peeks at Siren and Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger. In addition to the cast and executive producer panels, Freeform also announced activations that included giveaways and interactive displays.
When you open a doorway to the Realm, what’s Beyond can come knocking
Fresh off the exciting first season, Freeform’s Beyond actors Burkely Duffield, Dilan Gwyn, and Eden Brolin dropped in on NYCC for a panel on Saturday, October 7th, 2017. Joined by executive producers Adam Nussdorf, Tim Kring, and David Eick, we heard more about the surprises the show has planned for us coming up. Holden and Willa are navigating normal couplehood, but the Realm hasn’t left their minds. After a peek of what’s to come for season 2, we discovered that new allies and enemies will be introduced. All the while, the gang will deal with the danger that followed them back from The Realm.

NYCC wasn’t only about the returning hit shows, though! Freeform introduced us to the cast and executive producers of the exciting new series, Siren. They surprised us with an advanced screening of the entire first episode of the show during their panel on Saturday! Afterwards, cast members Eline Powell, Alex Roe, Fola Evans-Akingbola, and Ian Verdun jumped on stage along with executive producers Emily Whitesell and Eric Wald to tell fans more about the series. There was an extra surprise when Eline’s parents revealed they had flown all the way from Europe to surprise their daughter!
