Krypton is bringing Adam Strange to life from the pages of DC Comics and Shaun Sipos is set to play him!
One of the many DC Comics television shows that are coming in 2018 is the Superman prequel series Krypton on Syfy. While we have only seen glimpses of the new show, we’re slowly learning what and who to expect in the first season.
Deadline announced today that Shaun Sipos (The Vampire Diaries, Dark Matter) will be joining Krypton as a series regular in a big DC role. Sipos will play Adam Strange, which was first revealed at San Diego Comic-Con back in July. Syfy and Warner Horizon Television describes their take on Adam as follows:
“Adam Strange is a world-weary human, who finds himself stranded on Krypton as the unlikely mentor to Seg-El, Superman’s grandfather.“
The series will be using time travel as heroes from the present will be going back in time to Superman’s home planet. According to the executive producers at Comic-Con, a threat from the present is going back in time to prevent the birth of the Man of Steel and it’s up to Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe), Kal-El’s grandfather, to make sure his grandson’s future is possible.
Krypton will feature the appearance of other DC Comics characters such as Hawkwoman, Doomsday, and Brainiac. At Comic-Con, DC Entertainment CCO Geoff Johns even gave the fans a taste of Adam from the pilot as he will be saying the following words.
“I’m from Earth and my name is Adam strange. I need your help saving your grandson.”
“Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, KRYPTON follows Superman’s grandfather (Cameron Cuffe, “The Halcyon”) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.”
