Who We Are
Romancia founded TV After Dark in 2010. University graduate and based in USA. The hard-working folks at TVAfterDark are a diverse rabid bunch from around the world. Call it gusto, call it devotion, call it unbridled enthusiasm or passion – but we hunger and thirst for all things entertainment. TVAfterDark was born from movie watchers, book lovers, television and music addicts; basically from folks who live for entertainment. We love stories, we love imaginative plot lines and we love relationship drama – but even more, we love to talk about why we love them, and to share that love with the world.
TVAfterDark is a current entertainment news website that connects our audience through original features, news updates and celebrity interviews. Our team of talented journalists, writers, hosts and producers help bring our news stories to life. We may not be the biggest online publication in town, but we’re a guerilla band of mutants – big enough to produce impressive work, small enough to remember why we’re producing it, and passionate enough to deliver it to our audience.
A Little History
Romancia started out web developing for a client and part of the project request was interacting with potential customers. Coincidentally she found herself on a platform called uStream where she could talk live via video with individuals. Unsure of how this works, she was fascinated about a CW show called The Vampire Diaries and would watch the show and make ‘real talk’ commentaries on each episodes. It didn’t take long in which Romancia had an audience of less than 20 which she endearingly called her friends. UStream engagement was via twitter and it didn’t take long for everyone to quickly spread the word about her tell it like it is style commentaries and her more than obvious lack of urban culture once every week. The viewers quickly turned into 180,000 live watch by the end of two months and the demand to stay up ungodly hours for international viewers was starting to become taxing as the viewership grew and the demand for her thoughts on pop culture increased, she was encouraged to start a blog by her viewers. The birth of TV After Dark with Romancia and Friends was born.
