Ratings for FOX’s The X-Files were also made available. The show had a 0.8 rating and approximately 3 million viewers.
Jon Favreau (Iron Man) was recently announced as the head of a new Star Wars project for Disney’s streaming service. Unfortunately for Disney and Favreau, the announcement was met with a strong backlash online due to the news being released on International Women’s Day. Interviews: Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, and Jeffrey Wright discuss Westworld and Star Trek: Discovery’s Wilson Cruz talks about being an advocate for the Latino and LGBTQ communities
While appearing at a Westworld panel at SXSW, Evan Rachel Wood and Thandie Newton discussed their roles on the show and what it’s like to play two powerful women in an often male-dominated genre. The second season of Westworld will premiere on April 22nd on HBO.
“I’ve always said playing this role completely changed my life and transformed me, and it’s hard not to go through this same evolutionary shifts as the characters because you’re on the journey with them. And you don’t get to know what happens to them, and you don’t get to mentally prepare, and the existential crisis there is very real.”
‒ Evan Rachel Wood (Dolores, Westworld)
Actor Jeffrey Wright, who plays Bernard on Westworld, also appeared at SXSW and hinted at what’s in store for his character in the second season.
“He’s got some cognitive challenges as we enter the first episodes of season 2 and he has additional challenges that come up as he goes on board in terms of him being able to process.”
‒ Jeffrey Wright (Bernard, Westworld)
Star Trek: Discovery’s Wilson Cruz recently joined Deadline in their New Hollywood Podcast. He talked about his role on the show, being an advocate for the Latino and LGBTQ communities, and more.
