Let’s discuss: After a dramatic two-night event of The Bachelorette, Rachel has brought out her lawyer side sending Lee home – and it’s time to party.

The Bachelorette gods brought us two episodes back to back and they did not disappoint. First, on night one, the episode begins with Kenny pulling Lee aside to call him out. Kenny, like any like-minded person, would be, is upset that Lee won’t get the word ‘aggressive’ out of his mouth when referring to him. It just stem’s racism and he, and we, we are tired of it. The episode moves on with some lighter notes and also some creepy ones. We had the infamous shaggin’ date with Jack Stone with his, um, interesting glances. Their date was incredibly awkward and creepy after Jack said the first thing they would do together in Dallas was lock her up - let’s just say we feel safer for Rachel after she sent him home.

Then it’s off to Oslo, Norway where Bryan goes on another date with Rachel. Before the episode goes off the deep end with the Kenny and Lee date, Rachel took the guys on an (amazing) group date where they played handball wearing wrestling uniforms. Peter was lifting Rachel up, making Josiah incredibly jealous, while Dean tied her shoes for her and it was sweet. Then Peter spent 3 (and a half!) hours in the hot tub with Rachel after the group date, but she gave Will the date rose. Now the two-on-one date! Rachel took Kenny and Lee to the forest and pulled each of them aside to hear what happened the following night. Rachel brought out ‘Lawyer Rach’ to investigate since of course, they had two different stories, and the episode ended with Kenny calling Lee some amazing, and fitting, nicknames like an ‘alternative facts piece of garbage.”

Then in night 2, the episode continued with the rest of Lee and Kenny’s two-on-one date. Rachel sat in between Lee and Kenny to tell them it’s apparent that they have two completely different stories and she doesn’t know who to trust. Thankfully, Rachel said she can’t trust Lee and decided to finally send him home. Rachel and Kenny then went in the helicopter but Kenny went back over to Lee to have the last words. Good riddance, Lee. Kenny can now actually focus on Rachel and we can move on. Then the most normal thing of the season happened when Eric and Rachel went on a one-on-one date.

Rachel and Eric went to a carnival and rode bumper cars, played whack-a-mole, and went on a merry-go-round like a normal couple, and it was refreshing. Rachel felt Eric had been closed off until now and we’re guessing he just moved up on everyone’s list. Meanwhile, Peter went on yet another group date and has been questioning what he has with Rachel. If only you could just yell at him through your television screens to tell him he has nothing to worry about. Also doubting themselves was Kenny who has been having a hard time being away from his daughter. They mutually agreed to say goodbye to each other and it was the saddest breakup so far. Kenny and Lee weren’t the only ones to go home and in just one week–the number of guys had been cut in half.

1. Lee shows his ignorance yet again, claiming that Kenny used “the race card” and then followed with “I don’t understand the race card, but it definitely got played.” Well, we sure had lots of feelings about that one. Discuss!

Nicole (@Buffalogal): Lee makes me so angry with his ignorance that I cannot even speak. He is garbage and race-baiting Kenny. That is all.

Erica (@ericaeff): A white guy claiming he “doesn’t understand the race card” is a hilarious sentence - it’s like, yeah, no kidding my dude, that’s kind of the point. When Kenny says Lee is a snake, this is precisely why. How can you bemoan “the race card” while competing for the lifelong affection of a black woman? If Rachel comes to him with something specific to her experience as a black woman in America, is he gonna tell her to stop playing the “race card”? SNAKE. So not only is he a racist mess, but we know he doesn’t care about Rachel.

I also want to add that, more and more, I think Lee was a plant by producers to escalate racial conflict this season, and I think that’s such a low move on their part. They could have easily had their 2-on-1 opportunity with Blake and Whaboom, but no, they saved it because they knew that at some point Lee would provide them with the kind of tension they could make a controversial storyline out of.

Jessica (@bachbrack): OF COURSE he doesn’t understand the race card—he’s a white male whose Twitter shows his true ignorance. Honestly, Lee is the absolute worst in so many ways. I felt like everything he would say was totally contradictory to something he said just seconds before. Though I feel like Kenny is spending too much time on Lee, it’s clear that he is a much better person than Lee, and Kenny is truly there to find a wife/stepmother for his daughter. Lee, on the other hand, blatantly stated that he is just there to piss others off. I hope Kenny comes out of the 2on1.

Kathryn (@florencewelches): Lee is a garbage ignorant racist pile of dung. That’s what there is to it. “I don’t understand the race card, but it got played.” - like, what!? He just wants to paint Kenny as the aggressor, and himself as some type of victim. Ugh.

2. Rachel took the guys to play handball while wearing wrestling uniforms in an especially tight group date. What did you think of the group date?

Nicole (@Buffalogal): I thought it was fun and fairly drama free. Great uni’s 🙂 I would like to see her in more group dates though where she can get to know the men on a deeper level.

Erica (@ericaeff): Although I’m not a big fan of the P.E. class group dates, I love that we got to know Will a little better. He seems really sweet and well-adjusted, and I think he and Rachel could make a good match. I definitely hope Rachel gives him a solid chance.

Jessica (@bachbrack): I was so impressed with a number of the guys! To me, Will, Peter (of course), Dean (of course), and Alex really stood out during the group date. I loved that there wasn’t a negative vibe during the game; everyone was just there to have fun with Rachel. While I love to see the drama, it is nice to see the boys play nice on occasion.

Peter and Rachel’s hot tub excursion was somethin’ else. I was pretty surprised that Rachel didn’t give Peter the group date rose after that but Will was definitely worthy as well, shedding emotional layers rather than clothes 😉. All in all, the guys really stepped their game up during the latter part of the date.

Kathryn (@florencewelches): This was a fun date, and not half bad to see the guys in those little uniforms either! Whew.

3. Rachel sent home fellow lawyer Jack Stone during their date after she wasn’t feeling anything with him, and after his (very cringey) comments about taking her to Dallas and locking her in his room. Do you agree with Rachel’s decision to send Jack Stone home during the date?

Nicole (@Buffalogal): YES YES YES. This guy is like a creepy cartoon character. Watching this date, I asked myself for about the 1,000th time this season…who was screening these contestants? How could they have picked such an awful crop? Aren’t there any normal guys out there that want to be on The Bachelorette? Second guessing on that last question…

Erica (@ericaeff): Absolutely. Not to be rude, but his facial muscles must be so overworked from all that exaggerated smiling and those bug eyes. Everything about that date was uncomfortable! His inability to read Rachel’s body language was so unfortunate. She physically recoiled from that kiss.

Jessica (@bachbrack): I 100% back her decision to send him home. There was not a single moment during that date where I was thinking “she’s into him”. Even from the beginning of the date, Rachel’s body language just read uninterested, and this was especially prevalent when he shot her one of his creepy stares. I feel a little guilty saying that since he did seem to be nice enough, but one visual of his creepy stare justifies the past few sentences.

The Dallas comments really sealed his fate, in my opinion. IF he were lucky enough to get the chance to go back to Dallas and meet her family and friends, that’s how he would choose to spend his time?! I am so glad that Rachel bit the bullet and just sent him home at that point.

Kathryn (@florencewelches): This date with Jack was hella cringey - I mean the looks he was giving when he talked to the camera alone. There was no chemistry there, and the date with him was so forgettable! I can’t even count a number of times I cringed. Good one Rachel!

4. Rachel and Bryan went on a one-on-one date this episode and she says she can’t find one thing wrong with him and has no idea why he is still single. Do you think Bryan may be too good to be true?

Nicole (@Buffalogal): I, first of all, what insulted by that. I am 35 and still single, mostly because I haven’t found the right one yet, and I tend to date dudes who don’t have their shit together. Maybe he has bad taste in women? Maybe he hasn’t found the right match I’m not a Bryan fan, but I am not a fan of the “what is wrong with him” card either.

Erica (@ericaeff): I truly and honestly have no clue what she sees in Bryan. All I get from them is a constant loop of “omg you’re so charming”, “you’re too good to be true”, & slurpy kissing. Their relationship is shallow, to say the least, and I’m getting bored of it. Bryan eats up too much screen time!

Jessica (@bachbrack): At some point during that date, Rachel said she was worried about being played by Bryan. The true irony there is that he was once a cast member on a “reality” show called “Players”, wherein he was considered one of the many male players.

Bryan reminds me in a lot of ways of Josh Murray. They’re both smooth, charming, and their relationships in their respective seasons of The Bachelorette seem to be more physical than anything. As far as Rachel and Bryan go, they’re definitely in passionate love vs. companionate love at this point, and I think Bryan could end up being too good to be true, just as Josh was with Andi and Amanda Stanton.

Kathryn (@florencewelches): I completely understand where Rachel is coming from here. Everyone has flaws, but what are and where Bryan’s? I don’t question that he’s genuine and really cares about her, but at the same time, there’s got to be something hiding there. Her reservations are so valid.

5. Let’s talk about the two-on-one date, in Bachelorette fashion, they commonly end with only one guy coming back. In the group date, the bunch is in the woods when Rachel pulls both Kenny and Lee aside individually and of course, they have conflicting stories. Lee claimed Kenny shared with him that he has a “dark side” when he drinks and a bunch of other accusations. Did you believe a single thing Lee said?

Nicole (@Buffalogal): NO. Kenny has the perfect word for him, a snake. I don’t even think Lee wants to date Rachel, for him it seems like being on the show is more of a sport. He reminds me of Frank Underwood, conniving and charming his way. He is always on. Kenny at least is for real. I feel bad that Kenny is being put in this spot. I said it once and I’ll say it again, Lee is GARBAGE.

Erica (@ericaeff): No. His whole story about Kenny “pulling him out of a van” came out of left field. Not only is he sabotaging Kenny, but he’s also manipulating Rachel by introducing blatant lies into their relationship. I feel SO bad for Kenny. He is seriously getting such a raw deal here. All these weeks I’ve been saying that he’s a frontrunner, but especially this past episode I can see that this whole drama has put a massive strain on his chances with Rachel. Even if Rachel keeps him over Lee, I don’t think he’ll be able to recover from it.

Kaitlyn (@bachbrack): It’s really hard to say what is and is not true, since there is a lot of editing and situations that probably are not caught on film. While we did see Kenny say that he was going to shit in Lee’s cowboy boots (LOL), I think Lee has proven that he cannot be trusted, and I do think that if all other accusations were totally true, other contestants would have their guard up around Kenny, which does not seem to be the case. In fact, it’s pretty obvious that others get along swimmingly with Kenny & in some cases, defend him. So no, I don’t believe Lee wholeheartedly and I am really hoping he gets sent home in the first five minutes of tonight’s episode.

Kathryn (@florencewelches): Lee is SUCH GARBAGE. I believe Kenny said that Lee was grasping for straws and he was 100% on point. The dude is trying to claw at any and everything to secure his place on the show. He doesn’t legitimately care for Rachel, he just wants exposure. There’s nothing genuine there at all. Pretty sure even his blood is synthetic.

6. Tuesday night’s episode started off with a bang, following right where we left off on Monday. After Kenny and Lee shouted nearly every *expletive* at each other, which was understandable on Kenny’s part, Rachel pulled them aside and sent Lee home. What were your thoughts when you saw Kenny and Rachel be whisked away in the helicopter without Lee?

Erica (@ericaeff): Sweet victory for Kenny! Although I don’t think he should’ve gone back to scold Lee some more, it was a satisfying end to a tense couple episodes. Let’s pray they don’t invite Lee to Paradise.

Kaitlyn (@bachbrack): BYE LEE. Won’t miss your snakey, racist face on my screen every week. It’s always satisfying to watch the villain get left alone in the wilderness. It’s no secret that Kenny was the right choice in that situation, but at that moment, it was pretty clear that Kenny and Rachel weren’t necessarily the best fit. Rachel was understandably upset after Kenny had to have the final word, and they had a lot of catching up to do at that point.

Kathryn (@florencewelches): Oh Kenny, sweet Kenny. He should have just gotten on the helicopter without giving a second glance back. He really let Lee get to him in that instance, and Lee was loving it as if he got one last, small hurrah before he left. Rachel was annoyed, and so was I. Just get in the helicopter with your girl and leave the past behind! (I can understand the temptation, he just shouldn’t have acted on it.)

7. After the drama between Lee and Eric in Week 3, Eric tried to redeem himself in his one-on-one with Rachel on Night 2 and it was one of the most normal things we’ve seen on the show this week. What did you think of their date and what Eric revealed about love?

Erica (@ericaeff): I thought their date was so nice! It was simple, no gimmicks (ahem horseback riding down Rodeo Drive), and they seem to get along really well. I do think Eric is perhaps a little inexperienced for Rachel & for marriage in general, but if Rachel is willing to give him a chance then who are we to judge?

Kaitlyn (@bachbrack): I honestly loved this date. It was such a refresher after all of the drama. It was so sweet, fun, and genuine, and everything about Eric made so much sense after he opened up.

Kathryn (@florencewelches): Eric was so free and at ease and it was so refreshing to see!! He was really open and he and Rachel had such a great night together. I was so happy to see this side of Eric! I thought what he revealed about love was sweet and relatable. He’s definitely one of the most down to earth guys who’s been on the show.

8. The previews of this week’s episodes were edited to appear like Kenny and Lee got physical. Were you surprised to find out it was just a result of the Viking group date?

Erica (@ericaeff): Not at all! The Bachelor pulls this stuff all the time. You know it’s messed up when you’re relieved that it was just a viking-related injury, LOL.

Kaitlyn (@bachbrack): Nooooope. Can you even think of a time when a physical injury they promoted as a fight ACTUALLY was one? This was a classic Leah Block with a black eye publicity stunt. Also, let’s be real. If whiney-ass Lee HAD managed to get a punch in on pro-wrestler Kenny, Lee would have gotten knocked the hell out.

Kathryn (@florencewelches): I’m not super surprised to learn this was from the Viking group date. Lee, the piece of flaming garbage that he is, is mostly talk. I don’t think he could, or actually would get physical with Kenny or anyone really via his own instigation. He always wants to SEEM the most innocent. He’ll talk and provoke til the cows come home, but that’s really it.

9. Kenny and Rachel mutually agreed that Kenny should go home after Kenny admitted he was having a difficult time being away from his daughter and questioned how strong their connection was. What did you think when Kenny went home?

Erica (@ericaeff): I was disappointed that Kenny decided to go home! I’m sad that this whole conflict with Lee was such a setback for him because he deserved better. But when he got into the limo you could see the huge sigh of relief that he was going to get back to his baby, so honestly, I can’t be too mad.

Jessica (@bachbrack): This was such a sweet moment on the show. Also, could Rachel be any more perfect!? It was clear by this point that Rachel & Kenny weren’t going to happen. He’s an incredible man and father, but while he was spending so much energy on Lee, Rachel was moving forward with other men. Him leaving was for the best, and Rachel couldn’t have handled it any better. Kenny’s daughter is SO lucky to have him in her life, and he deserves someone really wonderful.

Kathryn (@florencewelches): It made me a little sad when Kenny went home, but I was neither disappointed or surprised. He and Rachel just didn’t have a strong enough romantic connection, and things ended on a really sweet note. Whenever he talked to his daughter it made me teary, so I’m glad he got to return home to her!

10. Along with Lee, Rachel sent home not one, but three guys–And that’s not even including those sent home during the rose ceremony. The guys still vying for Rachel’s heart was cut in half! Were you surprised by any of the guys she decided to let go?

Erica (@ericaeff): I was a bit taken aback by how awkward Will’s date with Rachel was, and I still feel like they have potential off-camera, but I was most surprised that Kenny left. I feel like he had the most husband potential, and now I’m not sure who I see as the frontrunner anymore. I refuse to believe it’s Bryan because I can’t with him lol. He’s just too much. Maybe Peter? Either way, I’m looking forward to the next couple episodes so we can get a clearer picture!

Jessica (@bachbrack): DUDE. This week was a massacre. Not only did they cut out a ton of guys, but I could barely identify two of the six left in a lineup. Who is Matt!? Who is (I legitimately just had to look up the other guy who is left right now because I could not remember his name) Adam!? But let’s be real, Rachel should have just cut everyone but Peter & headed back to that hot tub.

Kathryn (@florencewelches): I was surprised she let Alex go! I was honestly surprised that she kept around Matt and Adam. We’ve barely seen them interact with Rachel. I mean have Matt and Rachel talked more than a couple times?? Honestly?? Josiah’s comment to the camera about something being wrong with Rachel’s mind if she didn’t give him a rose was bizarre. Like dude, you’re kind of full of it and if she doesn’t feel anything with you…she doesn’t. Chill out.

Final Verdict: In just one week, half the guys disappeared with double the drama.

What a crazy week it was on The Bachelorette! The week started with all of the Kenny and Lee drama and ended with just above a handful of guys left. We hope Lee realizes his ignorance and becomes a better person than what we saw on the show. But now this gives you more screen time of your favorite guy. The episode ended with a rose ceremony for the first time in forever. We also learned there was someone named Matt in the house the entire time. It seems like the guys are leaving left and right after Rachel sent home Iggy, Lee, Kenny, Will, Josiah, Anthony, and Alex! The drama pauses for the holiday so we’ll be back in 2 weeks!

The Bachelorette returns next Monday, June 10 at 8/7C on ABC.
