Calling all superhero fans! Netflix and the cast of Marvel’s Iron Fist have just dropped some incredible hints on what fans can expect from the new series next March.
This year’s NYCC has been the home of exciting news for television fans. Today, we at TVAfterDark got to watch the panel and sneak peak of the new Netflix and Marvel original series Marvel’s Iron Fist. The show follows Daniel (Danny) Rand, who has just returned to New York City after staying off the map for ten years. Danny has come back to fight the criminals corrupting the city with the help of his *incredible* kung-fu skills and the power of the Iron Fist. At the panel, we were given insight on several facts about what fans can expect from the show next year. Want to know what we learned? Check out the news and super awesome teaser trailer below:
The superhero series is run by Scott Buck, and stars Finn Jones (Danny Rand), Jessica Stroup, (Joy Meachum), Tom Pelphrey (Ward Meachum), Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing), David Denham (Harold Meachum), and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple.
When the series’ panel first began in Ballroom 20, fans quickly learned that Iron Fist just finished filming the show at 9 AM this. morning. Talk about dedication! We can expect the show to be full of badass-ery, kung-fu fights, and amazing effects. Later, fans were shown a clip of a scene from the show. In the scene, Danny who has been missing for several years, returns to New York City and asks to see a man at the front desk of Rand Enterprises. Naturally, looking like Danny has been through hell and back, the receptionist calls security. It is here, where fans got to see the infamous kung-fu skills of Danny come to life on screen. Fans immediately erupted into cheers as the clip ended, eager for more. We were left speechless! After the clip, Finn Jones told us that he actually trained 5 hours a day for 5 weeks to prepare for his role as Danny. And let us tell you- it paid off WELL. Finn kills it as Danny, and we’ve only seen tiny sneaks of his character on screen.
After this clip, the cast spoke more on how bad-ass everyone is on the series – especially Rosario Dawson’s Claire. Honestly, we cannot wait to see more of her and the cast. At the end of the panel, the cast said their goodbyes our favorite superheros from Netflix/Marvel surprised fans on stage at the panel. The crowd erupted into cheers as Krysten Ritter from Jessica Jones, Mike Coulter from Luke Cage, Charlie Cox from Daredevil, and of course Finn Jones from Marvel’s Iron Fist joined together on stage to represent the Marvel Universe.
