BoJack Horseman is back in action after season four’s midnight release!

On Friday Netflix began to stream BoJack Horseman Season 4, so naturally, we are extremely excited to pick up where we left off with our favorite Hollywood Horse. BoJack has become so popular with viewers because of how relatable the characters are in the show. In a world where humans and animals co-exist together, they similarly share a lot of problems that we encounter as well. With so much to look forward to in this upcoming new season, we have picked our top five favorite things that we are looking forward to in this season of BoJack Horseman.

From season one, BoJack, voiced by Will Arnett, proved to be one of the most relatable characters on a modern day show. BoJack is a washed up 90’s sitcom star who is dealing with major depression. As a Horse who once had it all, it seems that the fame and money have not done anything for BoJack’s internal happiness. In this sense, he becomes so relatable to an everyday person who has or is struggling with similar issues. Let’s dive into the reasons why we are excited about getting to learn more about BoJack’s story in this upcoming season.

1. A Bunch of Exciting New Voices Are Headed Your Way This Season

BoJack Horseman is known for providing us with some very familiar voices in its show, and this season we will be introduced to so many new ones! Matthew Broderick, RuPaul Charles, Felicity Huffman, & Zach Braff are among some of the famous voices who will be joining the BoJack crew in season. Since the setting of BoJack takes place in Hollywood, why wouldn’t a few more famous voices decide to make some on-screen cameos? BoJack has featured plenty of star power cameos on its show in the past. Past celebrity cameos include Paul McCartney, Daniel Radcliffe, Naomi Watts, and Lance Bass just to name a few. It will be interesting to see whether or not these celebrities will be playing themselves in the show, or will they be voicing new characters? BoJack could really use some love this season, so maybe these new characters can provide him with some good life advice.

It is always exciting getting to see celebrities who we are familiar with in real life, become animated on a show. Last season we saw Andrew Garfield, which was hilarious! Mr. Peanutbutter was once married to Jessica Biel, you just never know who might appear in BoJack. That is what makes this show so fun and exciting, it includes real well-known people in a fantasy world. You never know which celebrities the BoJack crew might come across in their adventures. BoJack Horseman always finds a way to include major pop culture news into their show so it will be interesting to see what they decide to include this season. So be sure to tune in to the new season and you might spot one of your favorite celebrities in the BoJack world.

2. Diane Nguyen Is On The Move And In Search of BoJack

Diana Nguyen (Alison Brie) has been through it all with BoJack. She has helped write his biography, come clean about his depression, as well as be a shoulder to cry on when he needed one. In the season 3 finale, after the heartbreaking death of Sarah Lynn, BoJack takes off onto the open road. He left without telling any of his friends, including Diane. In the season 4 trailer, Diane is leaving BoJack a voicemail expressing her concern for his whereabouts. Diane seems to be going through some problems of her own, and it seems like she could really use a friend right now. BoJack and Diane have a very solid friendship where it seems that Diane is the only person BoJack trusts at times. It will be interesting to see where BoJack’s and Diane’s relationship goes in season 4, will they remain friends, or will something more stem from it?

Diane has always helped BoJack get through his tough times, she is always helping him understand his situation. She doesn’t want BoJack to overthink all of his problems, she just wants him to understand that you can have your problems and still be happy. Diane wants BoJack to ultimately find his happiness and enjoy his life, but the problem is he is being way too hard on himself. Sometimes, you just have to accept who you are and know that it is enough. This is exactly what Diane wants BoJack to do. So hopefully this season BoJack realizes that he doesn’t need to change a lot about himself in order to find happiness. He just needs to realize that no matter who he is, he can still be happy and live a life that he wants.

3. Todd Chavez Is Living His Best Life

BoJack’s rent-free roommate, Todd Chavez (Aaron Paul) is living his best life, and no one is standing in his way. Todd is the lazy yet outgoing best friend to BoJack who lives a life that not many may understand. While Todd does slack off a lot and is told by BoJack numerous times to clean up his mess, he is the coolest friend that any horse could have. Todd is trying to figure out exactly what he wants to do in life and in the season 4 trailer confidently says “ I don’t know if I can handle anything, that’s what makes my life so exciting “. This is totally the Todd Chavez motto in life, (remember when Todd opened up his own Disneyland back in season 2?) Todd doesn’t let anyone tell him no, and that’s what is so great about him. It will be exciting to see which adventures Todd finds himself on in season 4.

“You know, sometimes I feel like my whole life is just a series of loosely-related wacky misadventures.” -Todd

No one understands Todd’s life better than Todd. Why should Todd not live a life full of wacky adventures? That just isn’t who he is. Todd symbolizes the “go out on a limb” type of lifestyle that makes life just so much more fun. It may not be practical, but it’s fun. This is why Todd is such an important part of BoJack’s life. Sometimes BoJack forgets that he needs to stop focusing so much on his problems and just live. Todd may be sleeping on BoJack’s couch and might be a little bit of a pain sometimes, but he is the loveable and adventurous friend that BoJack needs in his life.

4. Mr. Peanutbutter is Running For Governor

In Diane’s voicemail to BoJack, she informs him that her husband Mr. Peanutbutter (Paul F. Tompkins) is running for Governor. Mr. Peanutbutter is the jubilant and amusing friend of BoJack Horseman who is also a former sitcom star. When it comes to new business ventures, Mr. Peanutbutter is no stranger to doing the impossible. He has hosted Hollywood game shows, as well as opened up a Halloween store in January. So running for Governor of California is just another thing that Mr. Peanutbutter can add to his resume right? In the season 4 trailer, while at a rally Mr. Peanutbutter hilariously tells voters that he is “on the side of the facts and the feelings”, that sounds like a politician who knows what he is doing. It isn’t anything out of the ordinary having Hollywood actors run for Governor, so this is not very surprising to hear. Mr. Peanutbutter has our vote for Governor.

“You’re not gonna find what you’re looking for in these awful made-up places. The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn’t a search for meaning. It’s to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you’ll be dead.” -Mr. Peanutbutter

Mr. Peanutbutter knows that when it comes to doing what you love in life, you shouldn’t set any limits and you should aim high. In fact, Mr. Peanutbutter believes the secret to life is to stop searching for its meaning. Mr. Peanutbutter very rarely gives out such wise advice, but this is so true. Why keep doing the same things that you are used to doing? Mr. Peanutbutter definitely knows how to keep himself busy with the most unusual activities. So will Mr.Peanutbutter become elected as Governor and keep himself busy with even more unimportant nonsense? Tune in to find out.

5. BoJack is Taking Time Off to Find Himself

We have seen BoJack go through his ups, and mostly downs in the show. He has tried so hard to make changes in his life for the better, but so far nothing has worked out in his favor. After the news of the shocking death of Sarah Lynn, BoJack’s co-star and long time friend, BoJack hits the road and we have no idea where he is going. Sadly in a final scene last season, we see BoJack driving and then lifting his hands off of the wheel while closing his eyes, but something made him hit the brakes. BoJack has to know that there is so much more to his life than all of the bad circumstances that he finds himself in. We can only hope that BoJack will find a new meaning to his life this season, with the help of the people who care about him of course. Diane is certainly worried about BoJack, and so are we.

“How do you make something right when you’ve made it so wrong you can never go back, I think you have to keep moving forward?” - BoJack

From the very first episode of BoJack Horseman, BoJack has understood the importance of moving forward. This is the best thing that BoJack can do for himself. He must move on forward in his life so he can leave behind whatever dark memories are not allowing him to move forward in his life. His friends are trying to make him realize that he needs to let go of certain problems and just be happy. It isn’t that easy but, If he can move on beyond whatever is holding him back this season, he can hopefully live a better life. Hopefully, we see a happier BoJack this season, it’s time that he found happiness and get the Hollywood ending that he deserves.

No Matter What, We Will Always Be Here For You, BoJack

One of the best things about BoJack Horseman is that you can never feel alone while watching the show. Life is hard, that is a given, but we don’t have to go through it alone. It doesn’t matter if you are a Hollywood star, or someone who just graduated college and doesn’t have the rest of your life figured out, you will be okay. BoJack lets its viewers know that while there are struggles in life, there are also so many reasons to enjoy life. Your friends and family are what makes life so bearable. BoJack has a lot of moments in the show where he feels like he has reached the end, but he has his good friends like Diane & Todd to let him know that he isn’t alone. Hollywood might take away the fame you once had, but it can never take away the relationships you have with people. Hopefully, BoJack will realize what he truly needs to be happy in life, and it may be something that was always right in-front of him.

This season we can look forward to seeing BoJack grow more internally. He has been struggling with a lot of issues in the past, and it seems that nothing has really helped him. However he always has his caring and loving friends around to provide him with support, so these relationships will play a huge role this season.
