Macgyver is heading back to CBS in a big way this fall. Fans new and old can expect an action-packed premiere season.
1) New show: Same rules
The trailer for the new MacGyver on CBS makes it very clear that while this show is brand new and firmly stands on its own, the same ground rules apply. In classic style, when plan A fails, always improvise.
2) Each character has their own role among the team
One of the standout takeaways from the trailer is that each character clearly has their own role. The brains = MacGyver (Lucas Till), the muscle = Dalton (George Eads), the boss = Patricia Thornton (Sandrine Holt), the best friend= Bozer (Justin Hires), and the hacker = Riley Davis (Tristin Mays). With such a strong team, the possibilities are endless.
3) Davis: “How’s he going to stop an airplane?” Obviously.. “Tin foil”
The MacGyver from the 80’s is back in a big way with this reboot. Who other than MacGyver could even think about stopping an airplane with… tin foil? Expect more outrageous scenarios where he has to make the most of the little he has to save the day.
4) Expect a little more lovin.
It’s not exactly clear from the trailer just WHO MacGyver is kissing, but there is definitely kissing. Looks like this reboot has some crazy sex appeal.
5) “It’s no fun if it’s too easy.”
Judging by the trailer, we’re all in for a wild ride this season. Explosions, car chases, speed boats, fights, love, break-ins, and so much more. Expect elements of the old classic you know and love with a whole lot of updated twists and CGI.
