Jessalyn Gilsig Heads to the National’s Capital
Glee alum and Vikings actress, Jessalyn Gilsig, has been cast in the sixth season of the hit ABC political drama, Scandal. According to Entertainment Weekly, Gilsig will be replacing Joelle Carter as Jake’s (Scott Foley) bride, Vanessa.

While ABC would not confirm the switch, Carter is a series regular on NBC’s Chicago Justice, which is also slated for midseason, where Scandal has now moved.
It’s unclear how often we’ll see Gilsig in the role in season 6, but at the end of season 5, Olivia (Kerry Washington) nearly got Jake to leave Vanessa at the altar until her father Rowan (Joe Morton) threatened to kill him.
