FOX Releases New Promo and Still for Season 2 of Gotham

FOX has released another exciting promo for Gotham Season 2 as well as a new look at the future Batcave!

As August begins to reach its end, we are approaching September which will be the beginning of the new exciting TV season featuring new and old programming, including FOX’s Batman origin series Gotham. FOX revealed another promo featuring a glimpse of what Gotham fans can look forward to in the second season of the many adventures of Jim Gordon and (almost literally) every Batman villain from the DC Comics Universe.

The more we see of him, the more I keep getting excited that Jerome (Cameron Monaghan) is really going to turn out to be the one that will one day become The Joker. But at the same time, I also get worried we are being mislead by seeing so many glimpses of Jerome in new promotional art or footage, just to make it look like that it’s the case. As big of a comic book fan as I am and as much as I get many Batman fans out there feel that Joker doesn’t need an origin, which is what makes the character so appealing in the comics, I am fine with this version having an origin story.

After seeing the 16th episode, I desperately want Jerome to be the one that will one day become Batman’s most vicious enemy as this actor could give us a fantastic Joker. While I may have poked fun at Gotham bringing in what feels like 50 villains from Batman’s rogue gallery, I’m looking forward to see this “Rise of Villains” arc play out and hopefully, as we see this serialized version of the show, it will help Gotham reach the potential that I know it can have.

In addition, TV Insider reveals a new photo of what will possibly one day become the future Batcave, which you can see below along with a quote from young Bruce Wayne himself, David Mazouz.

“It changes everything in Bruce’s life. It changes how he sees Alfred, the criminal side of Gotham, even how he sees his parents. It’s definitely not the Batcave. What is down there are clues to Thomas Wayne’s secret life and what he was trying to do before being killed.”

I’m not really sure what to take away from this quote because as far as I have been hearing in other interviews: the secret lair in Wayne Mansion, is supposedly the future cave, but suddenly it’s not the cave? Either way, I’m ready to learn more as season two is approaching.

Gotham season 2 premieres on Monday, September 21, 8/7c on FOX.
