The Clock Continues to Tick as FOX Prepares to Launch its Latest 24 Spin-Off, 24 Legacy!!
After eight seasons of “24”, a TV-movie and the event-series “24: Live Another Day”, Fox is attempting to reboot the series without its leading man. This time around, there will be no Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) to save the day and CTU will have to rely on a set of fresh faces to avert yet another terrorist attack. The Original Crew is Back to Work Their Magic on a New Cast.
Like the original “24”, “Legacy” will be helmed by Howard Gordon and Brian Grazer who have been with the franchise since the very beginning. The show’s original star, Kiefer Sutherland, is continuing his role as executive producer - most likely overseeing that the other actors don’t steal his catchphrase… Damn it! Sean Callery is also back to compose the new soundtrack. The behind-the-scenes makeup of “Legacy” remains largely the same as that of its predecessors, guaranteeing a similar look and feel of the nascent spin-off.
Unlike the returning crew, the cast has been reassembled from scratch. Instead of focusing on Jack Bauer, “Legacy” will follow the life of war hero Eric Carter (Corey Hawkins) who must rely on the now-revived Counter Terrorist Unit to protect him from past enemies. Story-wise, that’s all we got for now. Based on the casting decisions, we know that the story will involve a presidential election with John Donovan (Jimmy Smits) running for office. Just recently, it was announced Carlos Bernard would return to his iconic role of Tony Almeida. While Bernard is the first “24” vet confirmed to make an appearance, he probably won’t be the last. Other cast members include Dan Bucatinsky, Miranda Otto and Teddy Sears.
