ICYMI: Lois Lane is reportedly being cast on Supergirl, Kid Flash heads to Legends of Tomorrow, and more!
It’s time for another edition of Superhero After Dark! Before we get to this week’s news, we have a few important stories you may have missed.
First up, Lois Lane is reportedly being cast on Supergirl. Not much is known about when she’ll actually appear on the show or who is going to be playing her. Once we have more information we’ll report it here in Superhero After Dark!
Wally West/Kid Flash, portrayed by Keiynan Lonsdale, hasn’t had a huge role on The Flash this season. However, fans of his character will be happy to know the character is moving to Legends of Tomorrow. So hopefully, Wally will be given plenty of opportunities to prove that he’s a legend!

Guess Who: Matt Murdock gets a mother on Daredevil and Gotham recasts Scarecrow
FOX has decided to recast Scarecrow on Gotham. Originally, the character was played by Charlie Tahan. However, due to Ozarks being picked up for a second season and his commitments to that show, Charlie Tahan is no longer able to play the character. David W. Thompson will be taking on the role.
Matt Murdock from Daredevil is finally getting a mother! While he likely had one before the upcoming season, Joanne Whalley has been cast to play her moving forward.

TVAD Writers Room: The Flash review and roundtable plus roundtables for Supergirl, Black Lightning, and Arrow!
With most of The CW’s DC-based superhero shows back from the winter hiatus, it was another busy week for our TVAD writers.
Our Supergirl roundtable had a lot of praise to throw around for the latest episode. Featuring an all-women team-up, the timing of the episode felt especially relevant with the recent departure of executive producer Andrew Kreisberg due to sexual misconduct allegations.
Despite The Flash having amazing production values and great acting, the characters seemed oddly at ease with Barry being in jail. The addition of another masked hero was also questioned. Still, the episode was a solid outing for the Scarlet Speedster. For a more detailed look at “The Elongated Knight Rises,” check out the review here! The roundtable came to similar conclusions and questioned why Ralph was given so much screen time.
Black Lightning‘s second episode delivered more action and a continuation of the show’s darker themes and storylines. It raised numerous difficult to ask and even more difficult to answer questions. The roundtable gets into all of that and much more!
Finally, Arrow had Cayden James start escalating his attacks on Star City. Meanwhile, the new team continued to have trust issues with each other and Oliver’s team. The feud between the teams may not have completely sold our guests but they did almost all agree that Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity had some amazing scenes.
Interviews: Amy Jackson on Saturn Girl, Christopher Nolan talks about Heath Ledger’s death, and more!
Amy Jackson (Imra/Saturn Girl) recently talked to Variety about her role as Imra and how her relationship with Mon-El (Chris Wood), how her character works with villains, and more on Supergirl.
“She always sees the good in people and thinks she can change people. I think because she can read minds, she can see the backstory to these people and what’s coming from inside them. She thinks she can change things and ‒ not manipulate ‒ but have an impact.”
For the 10th anniversary of Heath Ledger’s death, director Christopher Nolan talked to BBC Radio 1 about the late actor. Ledger played the Joker in The Dark Knight and died not long after he was done shooting the movie.
Speaking of the Joker, Gotham‘s David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne) recently said that the Joker himself will be appearing on the show in the future. That being said, the actor has made statements in the past about characters appearing on the show that have never panned out. So it’s probably best that fans not get too excited until this is officially confirmed.
Warner Bros. producer Charles Roven discussed the DC Films universe and how there are simply too many movies in development for a single person to oversee them all. Head over to Screen Rant for more about the interview.
Coming Soon: First look at Worldkiller Purity on Supergirl, Krypton‘s Fortress of Solitude, new Jessica Jones pictures, and lots more!
With a second Worldkiller revealed recently on Supergirl, it was only a matter of time before a first look at Purity (Krys Marshall) in action was released. One such promotional image was just released. Worldkiller Purity will be debuting as the deadly Kryptonian weapon on February 5.
Over on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, a young Barack Obama will be appearing later in the season. The part has yet to be cast but the episode is expected to take place when Obama was a college student.
FOX’s Gotham might still on hiatus but new promotional material for the midseason premiere was just released along with a release date. Gotham will be continuing on March 1st. If you just can’t want to see more, check out the new promo trailer below!
Syfy’s Krypton‘s premiere date is only a few months away. To help make the wait a little less lengthy, EW exclusively released the first images of the Fortress of Solitude. You can check them out here! Krypton is premiering on Syfy on March 21.
Netflix has released new pictures from season 2 of Jessica Jones! The show will be returning on March 8.
