Katherine McNamara is Clary Fray!!
The highly anticipated ABC Family drama, Shadowhunters has cast Katherine McNamara as Clarly Fray. According to The Wrap, McNamara lands the role of the redheaded protagonist in the series based on Cassandra Clare’s epic fantasy novels. She joins Dominic Sherwood as Jace, Alberto Rosende as Simon, and Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle.
Described as beautiful, creative, and intelligent, Clary Fray is a promising art student whose bright future is derailed when her mother is kidnapped and she learns her life has been a lie. As she is forced into action, she embraces her newfound powers and realizes that she will play the central role in this new world.
Shadowhunters,” the straight-to-series adaptation of the “Mortal Instruments” series of YA novels by Cassandra Clare, will follow 18-year-old Clary, who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters — human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. When her mother Jocelyn is kidnapped, Clary is thrown into the world of demon hunting with mysterious Shadowhunter Jace (Sherwood) and her best friend, Simon.
