As Reign Returns, the Infamous Black Death Approaches
CW released the official promotional photos for Reign 2×01 episode entitled, “The Plague,” Written by Laurie McCarthy and directed by Fred Gerber. The series’ second season begins with Francis (Toby Regbo) and Mary (Adelaide Kane) as the newly crowned King and Queen of France. One of the first challenges they face is the arrival of the plague to the French Court. However, Francis finds himself outside the court’s gates with Lola (Anna Popplewell), the mother of his newly born child. In the photo above, we see Francis and Lola both looking rather concerned standing outside the protection of the court’s walls as the dreaded black dearth heads towards the kingdom. It appears wherever they are is either being built up or undergoing some renovations. Take a peek at the rest of the promotional photos below.
