Bad Boys, Split Personalities, and Pure Evil: The cast and crew of “Once Upon a Time” talk what comes next at SDCC 2016.
This season of “Once Upon a Time” showcased some major love stories, some broken hearts, and a character splitting entirely into two separate characters. The cast and crew shared some insight into what we can look forward to next season.
1) Regina will never loose her sass, but The Evil Queen is “pure evil and a lot of fun.”
After Regina and The Evil Queen are split and are no longer one person, the differences in their personalities will really shine through. Regina will look to continue her heroic arc while always keeping her sass and sarcasm, but without her conscious, The Evil Queen will become the purest form of evil. According to Lana Parilla who plays both women, the journey for both characters to co-exist will be incredibly interesting.
2) The cast and crew were coy about an Emma and Hook wedding.
Apparently avid fans of the show noticed a wedding dress in the shop window behind Hook (Colin O’ Donoghue) and Emma (Jennifer Morrison) in their final scene. When asked about it at the con, the actors played coy while the creators, Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz joked, “if that was really Emma’s dress, let’s face it, it would be red leather.” Could there be an Emma/ Hook wedding next season?
3) Regina and Emma are the epitome of BFF
Regina and Emma will continue to grow as friends, but Emma may be conflicted over how to protect her family from The Evil Queen. She doesn’t want to betray Regina, but things may get complicated.
4) They’ll dive into Hook’s past and reveal secrets next season
Although they wouldn’t reveal much, the creators implied that we’ll dive into some of Hook’s past next season and perhaps reveal secrets about who he is and where he came from.
5) Snow White and Regina’s friendship will grow
“The Regina and Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) relationship was kind of ground zero for the show.” The creators want the next season to feature more of the growing relationship between Regina and Snow. They think these two characters are the catalyst for the show and their relationship deserves to be delved into a bit more.
One of the most promising lines from the “Once Upon a Time” panel at Comic con was, “This show is all about hope.”
