Joel Gretsch Joins The Vampire Diaries Season 8

Joel Gretsch Heads to Mystic Falls

The 4400 and NCIS alum, Joel Gretsch lands a recurring role in the highly anticipated eighth and final season of the CW’s hit supernatural drama, The Vampire Diaries.Entertainment Weekly reveals Gretsch will portray a “blue-collar” guy named Peter Maxwell, who will first appear in episode 4 in the new season.

Joel Gretsch has been cast in the role of Peter Maxwell. Peter is described as “a blue-collar guy who abandoned his family a long time ago. He is shocked when his grown son walks back into his life to reconnect — and to drag Peter into a world of supernatural dangers.”

The question is: Is his son someone we know? And could his name be Matt Donovan?
