Twin Peaks’ possible return, the Stranger Things cast get turned into X-Men characters, and new updates on the Walking Dead universe.
Horror After Dark, Issue 1: Welcome to Horror After Dark guys! This week’s news was particularly interesting for our realm, as so much happened. With Halloween just ending a few weeks ago, and new shows airing on television for the first time, we compiled a list of all things spooky that happened. There may be spoilers, so beware!
First up, American Horror Story: Cult has released its first photos of Evan Peters as Charles Manson – and it’s totally creepy! Ryan Murphy has been trying to include Manson into his series since the start, stating that “ It really is about the rise of a cult of personality that can rise in a divided society.”
The premiere of Stranger Things kicked off the week of Halloween with an impressive 15 million viewers by the third day. On this season, the Duffer Brothers took fans out of their comfort zone of Hawkins and threw them into a harsher and more grittier world. Also, Netflix has turned Stranger Things into a 1980’s music video and we are here for it. Well, who wouldn’t be?
The Walking Dead’s Lauren Cohan joins Mark Walhberg’s new movie Mile 22! Telling the story of a secret intelligence agent who tries to “smuggle” a police officer out of the country, we can tell you that you’re in for a treat. While it’s not confirmed who Cohan will play in the film, we’re pretty damn excited about it.
Also, are The Walking Dead’s Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) going to be in conflict late on this season? According to ScreenRant, Reedus hinted that the pair might not be on good terms on the show anymore…this comes after last week’s episode of the show when Daryl killed a bunch of Saviors without Rick’s permission. Oh no.

Hot Topic: Chiller gets the cut, The Walking Dead gets into some trouble this season, Twin Peaks’ possible renewal and the Stranger Things cast get turned into X-Men characters!
NBC has decided to cut ties with its horror network Chiller after low ratings for their programs. Chiller was the home to their original series Slasher, but quickly became overlooked by re-runs of past series including Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
The Walking Dead finally brought Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) back! After not being on screen for three episodes (yes, 3…) they will return next week during episode “”The Big Scary U.” In other Walker news, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) might be given an advantage over the Saviors. These past few episodes, we’ve seen Rick’s crew and the Saviors fight face to face – there have been plenty of deaths, drama, and surprises as the two sides are in search for a load of guns. However, after an action sequence in last week’s episode, Rick and Daryl (Norman Reedus) finally took the Saviors gun supply! Well, some of them. The two stabbed a Savior while they were driving a jeep, causing the car to flip over, and allow them to take control of the Savior’s gun supply. Hell yes.
Were you hoping for a 4th season of Twin Peaks? Don’t get too excited yet, even though the executive producer of the iconic series Mark Frost was undecided on a renewal, actor David Lynch had other ideas. In an interview with Variety mentioned that: “There’s nothing to talk about.” WHAT!
Stranger Things fans, you’re in for a real treat! Artist Boss Logic has turned every cast member into X-Men characters using his awesome skills. From Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) as the badass Phoenix, to Lucas (Caleb Mclaughlin) as Bishop, these edits could not be more “bitchin,” as Eleven might say.
Guess Who: Fear the Walking Dead casts three new members to the team.
With Season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead arriving to your screens next year, expect to see some new faces. Jenna Elfman, Garret Dillahunt and Mishel Prada have been cast in series regular roles for the upcoming season. While details of their roles are not known yet, we’re sure they will be great additions to the FTWD world.
Talent Interviews: Khary Peyton and Chandler Riggs on The Walking Dead, AHS’ Sarah Paulson, Sonequa Martin Green of Star Trek: Discovery, and more!
Khary Peyton of The Walking Dead had a lot to say when it came to the death of his beloved tiger Shiva on the show’s seventh season. Seriously, our heart broke reading this interview.
“It tore my heart out.” ~ Khary Peyton on Shiva’s death.
In other news, Norman Reedus got scared of his dead prosthetic body double. Yep, you read that right. In this hilarious video from Reedus’ own AMC show Ride with Norman Reedus, he comes face to face with his Walking Dead character in an interesting way…
AHS fans! Sarah Paulson gave us details on that final shot in the series’ finale. Read up on what she had to say about the shot and her character’s rise by the end of the season here.
Sonequa Martin-Green of Star Trek Discovery also had a lot to say on her character’s development in the season, the importance of her role as the first black lead in a Star Trek series, and how she approaches her character.
Finally, Chandler Riggs of The Walking Dead reacts to his character’s possible death. Over the past few years, fans have become skeptical of the show’s writings due to the fact that Chandler’s character Carl has somehow avoided death in the most insane situations. Seriously, he’s immortal at this point! Riggs had a funny reply to these claims and how his character might get the bat this time around!
Coming Soon: The pilot of Syfy’s Tremors reboot has wrapped!
SYFY’s latest project, Tremors has wrapped on the pilot! Tremors, a sci-fi film from the 1990’s, has inspired the new series on Syfy, with Kevin Bacon to reprise his role of Valentine McKee, the show “picks up 25 years after the killer Graboid worms nearly 0destroyed the Nevada town of Perfection…Valentine McKee, who beat the sandworms once and will attempt to do it again; but first he’ll have to deal with age, alcohol and a delusional hero complex.” So. cool.

What’s Happening Next Week: There’s a lot in store before The Walking Dead’s mid-season finale.
After Eugene (Josh McDermitt) seemed to disappear off the map on this season of The Walking Dead, Eugene is back! In a clip from this week’s latest episode, Eugene has a special visit from Dwight, one of Negan’s infamous right hand men. Check out the clip here.
Get ready for an extended finale of The Walking Dead. As per usual, director Greg Nicotero mentioned that this year’s mid-season will be more than feature length! While there are no plot details yet, expect a lot of action and a cliffhanger.
