A legendary blade is nothing…without a master, described in the fifty-five second trailer release of the sword wielding fighter, Kwang.
Shortly after revealing Burst Caster known as Lt. Belica early this month, Paragon by Epic Games revealed a new sword wielding hero named Kwang. This character is the twenty-second hero in the beta MOBA game and brings new mechanics into paragon, able to change how and where he uses his four abilities with his Legendary Blade.
This durable master swordsman is the first hero with lifesteal built into their kit, enabling him to sustain well in the jungle. Though the “guy with a sword in armor” seems a bit generic. Kwang brings a new game mechanic into Agora by being able to teleport globally to his sword. Allowing for crazy backdoors and devastating flanks. Big Kwang will be phenomenal at initiating fights and ganking. He may even be a decent split pusher with multiple abilities giving him AoE damage, but I plan to highlight more of this in my Kwang hero review.
Kwang’s four abilities:
Light of the Heavens – Right Click: Beams of light strike Kwang’s sword, dealing AoE damage around it and giving him Physical and Energy Armor.
Judgement of the Heavens – Q: Kwang throws his sword to the heavens. When it lands, it deals damage and tethers enemies to it. The sword remains planted in the ground forever, until retriggered or the next basic attack.
Gift of the Heavens – (Passive): Kwang’s sword bursts with light, creating an aura around it that grants lifesteal to both Kwang and allies around him.
Fury of the Heavens – R: Kwang spins his blade around him in an AoE, damaging and slowing enemies. If his sword has been thrown and is out in the world he will teleport to it before attacking.
Keeping in mind the game is in beta and balancing a burst assassin may be difficult. Paragon game developers are yet to give players the next assassin hero so many of us are waiting for. Regardless, I remain very excited to see Kwang’s new interactive abilities, opening up the potential for many more heroes to come.
