Emerald City – The Classic Tale Reimagined!
NBC released the official synopsis, promotional photos and preview clips for the two-hour series premiere of the highly anticipated new drama, Emerald City. The series kicks off with an episode titled, “The Beast Forever,” and then followed by another all-new episode titled, “Prison of the Abject.” Check out the series description, sneak peek photos and previews for the new series.
Official Synopsis:
Swept up into the eye of a tornado, 20-year-old Dorothy Gale (Adria Arjona) is transported to another world — a mystical land where an all-powerful ruler (Vincent D’Onofrio) governs over one kingdom, has outlawed magic, and faces not only the wrath of a growing cauldron of witches but a looming disaster brought on by a mythical force. Epic, romantic and fantastical, “Emerald City” is an empowering tale of a young woman finding her true strength and identity even as she battles to bring a divided world together.
The Beast Forever – While looking for her mother, Dorothy Gale is swept up in a tornado and lands in a mystical world where the powerful ruler of a kingdom faces the wrath of witches and a mythical force.
Prison of the Abject – While trying to find a way home, Dorothy meets an amnesiac wounded soldier and a young man trying to free his best friend from a mysterious woman.
EMERALD CITY DEBUTS FRIDAY, JANUARY, 6 at 9|8c on NBC
Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Ana Ularu, Mido Hamada, Jordan Loughran, Gerran Howell and Joely Richardson also star. David Schulner, Shaun Cassidy, Josh Friedman and Matthew Arnold serve as executive producers. The series is directed by Tarsem Singh Dhandwar, who also serves as an executive producer. “Emerald City” is a Universal Television production.
