The 49th NAACP Image Awards are just around the corner and with it comes a historical announcement! For the first time ever in Image Awards History, the winners will be selected by the public. Votes can now be cast via the NAACP Image Awards site by picking from the list of announced nominees. Voting will close on December 15th, and winners will be announced a month later when the awards show is aired live on TV One, with Anthony Anderson hosting.

The NAACP Image Awards recognizes people of color for their achievements and performances in the world of arts, along with those advocating for social justice through their creative work.
The 49th NAACP Image Awards will air on Monday, January 15th, 2018 on TV One.
