A Shipper’s Delight No Matter What Flag You Fly
The fourth episode of The Originals titled, “Live and Let Die,” set sail a fleet of shipper feels with something for everyone to cheer about. The episode even sent forth three new ships out of the harbor. The sexual tension between Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and newbie vampire, Gia (Nishi Munshi) is palpable, but that doesn’t seem to be good news for series long fans of Elijah and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), but don’t throw out anchor just yet. However, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Cami (Leah Pipes) supporters sure got an episode to remember with all the couple’s scenes together. While, Josh (Steven Krueger) and Aiden (Colin Woodell) successful online dating match is pairing one can’t help but root for. And how cute are Kaleb (Daniel Sharman) and Davina (Danielle Campbell)? It is important to note, Klaus and Hayley, Cami and Marcel and Rebekah and Marcel are all not included because, they did not share any scenes together in this week’s episode.
Haylijah (Hayley + Elijah)
The couple’s shippers haven’t had much to cheer for so far in this season as the pair they’re rooting for has hit some rough waters. It seems ever since the season one finale forcing Hayley to transition to a hybrid and fake Hope’s death to keep her safe, she and Elijah couldn’t be farther apart. Ultimately, Elijah chose to leave the compound to enable Hayley’s re-connection with her werewolf roots, Now living under separate roofs, they only seem to talk when completely necessary. Even then their conversations are short and filled with snide remarks from Hayley. A great example is when Elijah came searching for Klaus at the compound. Hayley only had a rude responses to whatever he has to say. Don’t bring out the life boats just yet, we haven’t lost hope for these two, but something has definitely took some of the wind out of this ship’s sails for a bit.
Gilijah/Eligia (Elijah + Gia)
Holy sexual tension! The chemistry between Elijah and Gia is off the charts with hotness! This week lessons from Elijah’s mentoring of Gia included teaching her to fight by relating it to music, something she knows very well. The training session between them quickly turns from an innocent Mr. Miyagi-Karate Kid moment to a steamy Dirty Dancing, hot for teacher scenario. And judging by Elijah’s almost orgasmic expression as Gia reaches through his chest to grab his heart, we’re pretty sure the feeling is quite mutual. However, before we could catch our breath and the pair could surrender to the moment, Hayley interrupted and the moment passed. Honestly, though with moves and swagger like Elijah, who wouldn’t be hot for teacher? And just like that a new ship sets sail and fans can’t help but wait in anticipation for the next interaction between the two.
Klamille (Klaus + Cami)
Although Klaus warned Cami to stay away from him in the season one finale, he couldn’t help turn to her this week for help to find Mikael (Sebastian Roche‘). Despite his intentions to use her to locate his father to kill him again, Klaus discovered much more than a location. Cami convinces Klaus and offers him the one thing he wants, he needs, someone to listen to his side of the story. In an attempt to prove to him there’s more to life than revenge, the pair share a slow dance. They have an intimate moment where the tension between them is almost tangible as they almost kiss, but Klaus disappears before she knows it. Later when Cami finally finds him and rants about his behavior, she hugs him and Klaus appears stunned by her display of affection. Even though, Klaus has the ability to be a real monster, devoid of any emotion, we can’t help, but root for him to find love too.
Kavina/Daleb (Davina + Kaleb)
Despite being the reincarnation of the pugnacious Kol Mikaelson, Kaleb’s task to win over the trust of the powerful Davina makes our hearts melt. First meeting for coffee in last week’s episode, the interaction between these two is darling. This week Kaleb comes to Davina’s side to help treat her injured ankle. Kaleb’s delicious accent and Davina’s overall adorableness, makes us hope the chemistry between the pair is mutual and is not entirely an act on Kaleb’s part.
Jaiden (Josh + Aiden)
Everyone loves Josh, so when we found out in this episode of The Originals he was looking for love, we can’t help but root for him. Resorting to online dating, Josh’s match is revealed to be werewolf pack leader, Aiden, when he shows up for their first date at a bar. An unlikely supernatural pairing between a vampire and werewolf, the odds seem to be stacked against them. However, they both agree to put their supernatural differences behind them and just be themselves. And we’re sure this new pair is a ship all fans of the show can board. Let us know below which ship you are rooting for the most in the poll below and your ship isn’t included because they didn’t share any scenes together in “Live and Let Die,” make sure to add them in the comments section Yes, Klayley (Klaus + Hayley), Carcel (Cami + Marcel) and Rebel/Marebekah (Rebekah + Marcel) shippers, this means you.
UPDATE 10/30: Hey everyone, since readers seem to be up in arms and ignore the section where the writer for this article explains what the shippers are about. I’ve made the decision to change the title and bold and make blue. As the Editor we’re not familiar with every shipping. However, we’re happy to hear any feedback isn’t sent in way of shippers hate. Because we didn’t add a shipper doesn’t mean we favor any over the other. So please take this into consideration when you’re sending negativity in comments or social media. ~ Thanks Romancia
