A Friendly Reminder to Refresh Your Memory for Season Two
With each passing day, we’re closer to the season two premiere of The Originals. So much supernatural magic, mystery, mayhem and more happened last season in the French Quarter. In the season finale, we finally met Klaus and Hayley’s miracle baby. Unfortunately, she had to be ripped from her mother’s womb, whose throat slit. Unable to help, Klaus watched the awful act and Elijah recovered from a werewolf bite. The Mikaelson brothers were determined to track down the ruthless bitches, oops witches and had help from two unlikely sources, Hayley, whose life was spared thanks to her baby’s blood and Marcel. They decided for her safety, Hope, must leave town and they let everyone believe she’d been sacrificed as the witches planned. However, unbeknownst to them, during the epic battle with the witches Davina resurrected Papa Original and Esther managed to weasel herself back to life again. The Originals:
The Mikaelson siblings left Mystic Falls behind and returned to New Orleans, a place they once called home, in hopes to become a family again. Hayley’s miracle pregnancy was the hope they needed to reconnect with one another. And with new places comes new faces and we met quite a few, friends, foe and at times both. Let’s see how the gang that started it all fared through the first season.
Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan): Our Original vampire-werewolf hybrid is still standing strong. He is ultimately a true immortal, unable to be killed, but damn if that didn’t stop so many from trying. After re-gaming control of his city, he ultimately lost it when the Correas revealed their true selves and took some of his strength along with it and Genevieve’s spell.
Elijah Mikaelson: (Daniel Gillies): The honorable and level-headed Original brother remains alive and undaggered. Although lay staked at the hands of his very own brother in the beginning of the season. He and Klaus left us a joint force because no matter what, Elijah still believes in the redemption of his family and his brother.
Rebekah Mikaelson (Claire Holt): The sassy Original sister, who Damon referred to as ‘Barbie Klaus’ is alive, but no longer living in the French Quarter. She left after Klaus discovered she and Marcel brought Mikael to town in the 1919, but returned briefly in the finale to take Hope to keep her safe
Marcel Gerad (Charles Michael Davis): Klaus’ former protégé’ and dethroned self-proclaimed King of New Orleans is still holding strong. He’s had a few run-ins with Klaus and a few others, but made it out alive. He saved Hope from the witches in season finale and he and Klaus let bygones be bygones. Question is for how long?
Hayley Marshall (Phoebe Tonkin): After being killed during the French Quarter witches attempt to sacrifice her newly born child, Hayley was healed by her daughter’s blood and reemerged a vampire-werewolf hybrid. She had no trouble holding her own before, we can only imagine how much ass she’s going to kick season two.
Camille O‘Connell (Leah Pipes): The local bartender, psychology student and Klaus’ blonde kryptonite is still alive despite her human status. Warned by Klaus in the finale to stay away, Cami just can’t help but be involved. Her family is deeply rooted in the supernatural history of the French Quarter.
Davina Claire (Danielle Campbell): A young, but mighty powerful witch, Davina is alive and tired of being pushed around. Not a fan of Klaus and his doings, she was persuaded to resurrect the Mikaelson patriarch, Mikael, with the sole purpose to use him as a weapon against Klaus. Davina was last seen demonstrating her power and control over Mikael.
Sophie Deveraux (Danielle Pineda): The rebellious French Quarter witch with a wild side, unfortunately was killed by Monique, a Harvest girl, when she attempted to flee town with her in hopes to save themselves from the rest of the bitch witches.
The Others:
Season one also introduced to few new characters as well. Some stuck around and we fell in love with them instantly, while others lost in battle or were just collateral damage.
Josh Rosza (Steven Krueger): Newbie vampire once used as a spy at the hands of both Marcel and Klaus, Josh and Davina became quick friends. Despite being bitten by Klaus at the end of the season, Davina cured him and kept Josh alive.
Jackson (Nathan Parsons): Leader of the Crescent werewolf pack and betrothed to Hayley, Jackson is still hanging around out in the bayou with the rest of the Crescent wolves.
Oliver (Chase R. Coleman): Misguided Crescent werewolf and Jackson’s number two man, Oliver is still alive. Despite making shady deals without the packs approval including the nasty explosion in the bayou that cost several lives of pack members he is still part of the pack.
Francesca Correa (Peta Sargent): Former leader of the human faction, in the season one finale, Francesca revealed her supernatural form triggering the werewolf curse. She stole the spelled rocks with the help of Genevieve and her and her pack took control of New Orleans. Unfortunately, she is still alive.
Be Wary:
Mikeael Mikaelon (Sebastian Roche’): Papa Original, who Davina brought back to life in the season one finale. He is the vampire who hunts and feeds on vampires. He has always wanted to kill Klaus because he believes he’s an abomination.
Cassie (Natalie Dreyfuss): One of the Harvest girls that came back to life when the Harvest ritual. She is currently being possessed by the powerful Original witch, Esther Mikaelson. She is the mother of Klsus, Elijah and Rebekah and Mikael’s wife, that created the Original vampires and in the past, wanted to destroy them.
Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood): Revealed in the finale to be possessed by Finn Mikaelson, an Original family member, who has always sided with his mother, Esther.
May They Rest In Peace:
Jane-Anne Deveraux (Malaya Rivera-Drew): Sophie’s sister, Monique’s mother and witch, who was killed by Marcel in a display of power for doing magic without his approval.
Father Kieren (Todd Stashwick): Peacekeeper and Cami’s beloved uncle, Father K was hexed by one of the elder witches, Agnes. He had a heart attack and died, but had vampire blood in his system turning him. He was staked by Klaus in an effort to save Cami from his attack.
Thierry Vanchure (Callard Harris): Marcel’s loyal right hand man, he was put in and freed from Marcel’s “Garden’ by Klaus. ad his heart ripped out by Elijah for he and Marcel’s disruption of the festival celebrating the witches.
Diego (Eka Darville): Part of Marcel’s inner circle, he returned to his side in an attempt to regain control of the Quarter, Diego, sustained a werewolf bite during the season one finale. He died at the hands of Mikael, who fed on him after Davina brought him back to life.
Eve (Tasha Ames): Untriggered member of the Crescent werewolf clan, Eve, served as a friend and Hayley’s first connection to her people. She was suffocated by Oliver to keep her quiet about his hand in the explosion in the bayou.
Good Riddance:
Genevieve (Elyse Levesque): Powerful resurrected New Orleans witch, coven leader and elder. Genevieve was killed in the finale Hayley for attempting to sacrifice her daughter.
Sabine Laurent/Celeste Dubois (Shannon Kane/Raney Branch): Powerful French Quarter witch, coven leader, elder and Elijah’s past love she disguised herself as a tour guide after thought dead for years. She was killed by Elijah by Papa Tunde’s blade.
Papa Tunde (Owiso Odera): Former New Orleans coven leader and extremely powerful warlock was resurrected by Sabine. He was also killed by Sabine to complete his blade to use against Klaus.
Monique Deveraux (Yasmine Al-Bustami): Sophire’s niece and Jane-Anne’s daughter, Monique was sacrificed in the harvest ritual, but returned to life after the ritual was completed. She was killed in the finale by Marcel to stop her from sacrificing Klaus and Hayley’s child.
Agnes (Karen Kala Livers) Elder witch of New Orleans and fortune-teller, whose neck was snapped by Elijah after she attempted to kill Hayley and Klaus’ child in utero.
Bastianna Natale (Shannon Eubanks): Powerful resurrected New Orleans witch who met her fate when she was beheaded by Marcel.
New Blood:
Kaleb (Daniel Sherman): A handsome, devilish and charming new witch in the French Quarter’s coven. A paranormal psychologist that intends on wreaking havoc, wooing women and causing as much chaos as possible, He has been deeply wounded by a horrific family upbringing and covers his emotional bruises with a wicked sense of humor, as well as a wicked temper.
Lenore (Sonja Sohn): , A powerful salt-of-the-Earth kinda witch, who is hell bent on wreaking havoc in New Orleans. She is also not a fan of Klaus.
Gia (Nishi Munshi): Described as an edgy rocker girl with a beautiful soul, she is drawn to New Orleans by the music and magic. She had a rough family life and turns to Marcel to turn her into a vampire in search of meaning to her life.
Aiden (Colin Woodell): A “badass” werewolf named Aiden, a lieutenant in a leading werewolf pack of New Orleans. He is all about keeping his family safe at any cost. Even if it means teaming up with the French Quarter witches to take down vampires.
Ansel (TBA): A respected, but feared werewolf pack leader, who is rumored to spend a lot of non-romantic time with Davina.
Mary-Alice (TBA): A witch with ties to Marcel who makes a deal with Klaus and Elijah for protection in exchange for use of her curses.
