ICYMI: Focus Features to Release Mr. Rogers Documentary, New Documentary about the Life of Prince, and Vanderpump Rules Season 6 Premieres on…
Hello and welcome to another edition of Reality After Dark! You can see what happened in our first issue here!
In case you haven’t been following the world of reality television recently, here are a few things that have happened recently.
Focus Features has acquired the worldwide rights to a documentary about the life of Mister Fred Rogers called Won’t You Be My Neighbor, and it is set to be released on June 18th, 2018, ComingSoon.Net reports. The chairman of Focus Peter Kujawski said, “Morgan once again avoids making a traditional biodoc and instead takes us behind the curtain to see how Fred Rogers navigated the cultural and social issues of the second half of the twentieth century with his own brand of forward-thinking, compassionate wisdom far beyond his time.”
In other documentary news, Variety reports a new documentary about the life of Prince is in the works, titled Prince’s Last Year. The documentary will explore the last twelve months of the icon’s life. It will star several stars commentating including CeeLo Green, George Clinton, and Rev Al Sharpton. The catch? It will be produced in the United Kingdom and Channel 4 has confirmed as of December 1 that there are unfortunately no plans for it to have distribution rights outside of the UK, although it is being produced in part by the New York-based production company, Lincoln Square Productions.
Finally, TV Guide announced that Vanderpump season 6 will premiere on Monday, December 4th at 9/8c on Bravo. You can also stream on Hulu with live TV, and fuboTV.

Interviews: Top Chef judges talk season 15 and how filming in Colorado affected the show.
The judges of Top Chef, Tom Colicchio, Gail Simmons, and Graham Elliot, sat down with Entertainment Weekly to talk about the upcoming season along with the host Padma Lakshmi. For starters, it was announced that the season has a new location that brought some challenges with it, EW shares.
Lakshmi said that “the new season’s location brought up some unexpected difficulties that really put her and the 15 cheftestants to the test. Simmons, who’s been a judge on the show since season 1, echoes the sentiment, saying that altitude “definitely changed the game.”
Being that the new season is in Colorado, cooking is quite different because of the altitude and sea level, like Elliot said, “not everyone took that into consideration because water doesn’t boil at the same temperature and other key cooking things like that.”
