TVD News to Be Thankful For This Week
It’s no secret this has been a week from hell for Vampire Diaries fans. First the series’ talented leading lady, Nina Dobrev announced she wouldn’t be returning to the supernatural drama after the sixth season. Shocked by the news, many TVD fans were overcome with feels and took to social media to find some way to deal. Then fans learned Steven R. McQueen asked for prayers for his mom and we learned she had been hit by a car. Luckily, she is doing alright and on her way to recovery. And just when we thought things couldn’t get any worse, the heartbroken TVD Family got the news Glen Ridge Hall, home of the original Salvatore House (which now is all on sound stage by the way) was demolished after weeks of petitioning from fans and the community. In the wake of all this bad news, here are five things TVD fans can be thankful for this week. By no means does it make up for any of the awfulness, but maybe just might keep your mind off it all for a minute or so, hopefully.

1. Congratulations to The Originals‘ handsome, Daniel Gillies and wife, Rachael Leigh Cook.
The couple welcomed their second child, a boy named Theodore, on Thursday (April 8). The mere thought of Daniel with a baby is enough to make anyone swoon. While, it’s not the real thing, but just seeing him as Elijah holding baby Hope sure does brighten our day.
2. Kat Graham Debuts a New Song, “Quit Ya,” on VH1 Big Morning Buzz

4. The Originals Returned Monday.
What an amazing episode filled with lots of juicy Mikaelson drama! One thing the episode proved is Freya Mikaelson is a force to be reckoned with. It seems like big sister is about to “out-Klaus” baby brother, Klaus, See Freya in all her badass glory below.
5. TVD Returns from Hellatus in ONE Week!
Yes, we’re all sad the beloved Elena Gilbert is leaving one way or another at the end of the season, so let’s take a page from the ‘Warrior Princess’ and savor every moment of Elena and Delena-ness we have coming up. And let’s not forget Nina did say, “there’s still so much more to come before the season finale.”
