An Afternoon with Alaric at TVD Chicago
The Vampire Diaries’ handsome Matt Davis (Alaric) attended Creation Entertainment’s annual TVD fan convention in Chicago, Illinois (April;. 17 – 19). Cast members appearing this year include Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley. Michael Trevino, Zach Roerig, Michael Malarkey, Chris Wood, Daniel Gillies, Matt Davis, Sebastian Roche, Chris Brochu and David Alpay with Chase R. Coleman,and Micah Parker serving as hosts for the weekend, They appear in Q&A panels for the fans, sign autographs and take photos with fans. Matt appeared for a panel Saturday afternoon. Below are some quotes from his panel as well as photos shared by fans.
- Matt says that magic is focused intent, but karma will get you if intent isn’t pure.
- He would want Jolaric to move after baby is born. He thinks Mystic Falls is way too dangerous.
- He’d rather live in space than underwater.
- Matt says “No one is safe in Mystic Falls. It’s dangerous there. The crime rate is through the roof. But you get great prices on real estate.”
- He may have slipped that Jolaric are having twins; Gemini Twins. He`would name Bonnie Godmother. “She’s the savior of Mystic Falls.”
- Thinks maybe Matt as the Godfather, “gotta give him some purpose and Jeremy too young.”
- The last person he’d want the baby to bring home to date: (no hesitation) Damon or (after audience nudging) Kai.
- He would name Jolaric baby Zeus, Jesus, Stelaric…
- Matt likes working work Nina, Ian and Paul. He says Paul’s humor is dry as a martini.
- He’d be a werewolf.” It’s a monthly thing.”
- He’d teach comparative mythology…or sex education.
- Matt says Nina’s pranks are more annoying than anything. She’ll take best bite of your food, jump scare you around corners, etc.
- His favorite alien movies are ‘The 5th Element,’ ‘Star Trek’ reboot and “Men in Black.”
- Matt says “I need to film again. I’ll do Batman. Need pecs, eight pack, work on his Batman voice.”
- He says Warner on ‘Legally Blonde’ was fun because he’s a snooty uptight douchebag…but Alaric was more of a stretch for me.
- He doesn’t generally get to sight see when he does cons.
- If he could have a power, he’d take Spiderman’s.
- A fan asks Jenna or Jo? and Matt says Jenna has a place in his heart, but has to go Jo.
- Matt shares that it was great working with Reese. He was so young and so green when he did the part. He fanboyed out. She wasn’t impressed. Says she was so big and Elle so fully formed, that she created Warner more than he did.
- He likes being in nature. He doesn’t hunt, but Zach has been encouraging him to but he hasn’t pulled the proverbial trigger yet.
- He’s going to do ‘A Street Car Named Desire’ this June in Atlanta.
- Matt says he learned graciousness from Stephen Spielberg.
- Matt asks “What do you think I should name my baby? Delena?”
- Matt: “No guys I’m not gonna go out tonight. Gonna watch Netflix and chain myself in the basement. God bless Netflix.”
