Kai Stops by BloodyNightCon Europe for a Chat
The Vampire Diaries handsome Chris Wood (Kai) attended this year to BloodyNightCon Europe, an annual Vampire Diaries and The Originals fan convention in Brussels, Belgium (May 30-31). Hosted by KLZ Events, cast members scheduled to appear included Ian Somerhalder, Daniel Gillies, Kat Graham, Michael Malarkey, Chris Wood and Chase R. Coleman, Chris had a solo panel on Saturday. Below is a few quotes from his panel and some pretty amazing photos shared by fans.

- Chris comes onstage and says, “Do I look like a psychopath?”
- He says that, “Kai isn’t the guy you wanna bring home to your parents. Like ‘this is my boyfriend. He’s gonna kill you’.” Haha.
- Chris says he ate his entire weight in chocolate during his time in Brussels.
- “Kai is so fun cause he’s crazy.” And he advises everyone to run from Kai.
- His favorite scene of Kai is probably the finale and the merge with Luke.
- Chris loves the balance between being a bad boy and funny at the same time.(Kai)
- Chris talks about his new show Containment, which is a remake of the Belgian show Cordon!
- His character Jake Containment is a good cop and the opposite of Kai,
- Containment will air beginning of next year and it will air without any breaks or hiatus
- The staff asks for fans to limit use of the flash during the panel and Chris says: “Flash? Wait is Grant Gustin here?”
- Chris’ favorite character is Enzo. , a good villain role
- He then asks the fan their favorite character and added :”You’re supposed to say Kai.”
- Chris hadn’t watch TVD before casting, but fell in love with it when going for his Kai role
- Kai character really clicked for him when shooting the scene when Kat realizes he is the psycho mentioned on the newspaper.
- He says the TVD cast was very welcoming to him as a new family member.
- He watched the finale at home. Bizarre for him to see his head fall off!
- What Chris would change about Kai? Says he’d be like “hey dude…why don’t you…chill a little bit?”
- He’s fan off Harry Potter!
- Chris likes TV that feels like films. Game of Thrones is his favorite TV show
- On fame: says its disoriented in the beginning, the exposure is greater due to success of TVD He doesn’t consider himself famous.
- Chris favorite episode is the one Paul “my boyfriend” directed with the scenes he gets to torture Elena
- He says he begged Paul to come here and even pushed Phoebe aside and kissed him
- “Paul is one of my best friends”
- Chris says that the first time he tasted the fake blood, he vomited. Then he asked a fan “How are your fries?”
- There is a deleted scene were Kai is emotional.
- His favorite spot in Brussels is the statue of the little boy peeing. Haha “Mankenpiss”
- Chris says “the best characters are the ones we love to hate”.
- Daniel Gillies photo ops were called out and Chris stood up and said “I have to go”
- Chris says that Ian poked him in the junk with a fire poker during an entire shoot
