The Cast Dishes on The Originals 2×08 “The Brothers That Care Forgot”
The eighth episode of The Originals season two airs tonight and viewers us included are dying to know what going to go down now that all the Mikaelson brothers are reunited. Now that Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) have brothers, Finn (Yusuf Gatewood) and Kaleb (Daniel Sharman) we can only imagine the dinner table conversations. Especially with previews showing Klaus and Elijah trying to sway their brothers to side with them instead of their mother. With such an exciting episode on the horizon, cast members Joseph Morgan, Charles Michael Davis (Marcel), Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley), Yusuf Gatewood, Colin Woodell (Aiden) and executive producer, Julie Plec about what is next to come. In the clip below, Phoebe talks to Access Hollywood about Hayley’s struggle with her feelings for Elijah, what she needs to do for the good of the pack and Jackson.

Claire Holt talked to Access Hollywood about Rebekah’s return, being a mum and much more.
“She loves being a mother and she loves raising Hope and she loves everything about this child and she’s fiercely protective and loyal and I think it’s really changed her and it’s centered her and it’s taught her what’s important in life and it’s been a great thing for her.”
“She’s raising this baby as if it were a normal human, and I think that’s really been something she wanted,” Claire said.
“These few episodes are really just about protecting her and keeping her safe, but I can’t imagine when you have supernatural parents that you don’t inherit some of their crazy gifts,” Claire said.

Entertainment Tonight spoke to Claire about being back on The Originals, which brother Hayley should date and more.
ETonline: We have all desperately missed seeing Rebekah on our screens each week, what has she been up to with baby Hope?
Claire Holt: She has just gone into full mother-mode. She’s nurturing and raising this baby as if it were her own and just loving it, and it’s just really made her realize, if she didn’t already know, how much she craved having a child of her own….What kind of a mother is Rebekah?
CH: You know what, I think that she is putty. It’s very difficult for a child of that age to misbehave too much so right now she’s just worshiping the ground that Hope walks on. I don’t know if she’d be one for tough love, I think right now she’s wrapped around Hope’s little finger.Haley (Phoebe Tonkin) has been missing hope so desperately, so when Rebekah comes back into town is there any jealously or animosity between the two of them?
CH: I think Haley appreciated the fact that Rebekah has given her life now to her baby’s safety and I don’t think there’s any jealousy or animosity — it’s really just gratitude and a motherly bond that they feel for each other. Of course, I’m sure Haley internally feels jealous that she doesn’t get to raise her own daughter, but it’s definitely not directed at Rebekah.How does Rebekah react when she discovers that not only are her dead brothers back to life, but now they’re in two new bodies?
CH: I think a lot of it is confusing to her. I think she was somewhat up-to-date with the happenings of the family, but definitely not familiar with the craziness that has been appearing. She is a little confused and overwhelmed by the situation, but also realizes that they need to do what they have to do for the safety of the child, so it’s pretty cool to see them come together as a team.Rebekah knows what her mom is capable of and she’s seen that body-switching is the current trend in The Originals’ family, do you think she’s concerned that this could happen to her?
CH: I think everything is a possibility in their world and I think she’d be crazy not to be worried about things like that. I think she should be worried about everything when it comes to the Mikaelsons.

Executive producer, Julie Plec dished on Rebekah’s return, the werewolves, Vincent and Kaleb’s allegiance and the Mikaelson curse in an interview with TV Fanatic. Take a look at the video clips of what she had to say at TV Fanatic.
In an interview with LogoTV’s Backlot, Colin Woodell discusses playing Aiden and his budding romance between him and Josh (Steven Krueger).
The Backlot: So when you set out for an acting career, gay werewolf was on the bucket list, right?
Colin Woodell: [laughs] No. Not at all actually. I come from a theater background so you never really see yourself doing the things that you see all over the place. It’s always that riveting, dark role that you picture yourself playing. But I had auditioned for The Vampire Diaries several times and I really, really enjoyed the casting office. They seemed to have a good response to me. So I could see it happening, but you never like to think too much about it before it happens. If it happens, awesome. If it doesn’t, so be it.
What’s it been like working with Steven?
CW: It’s always fascinating when you’re a new character on an already established show and you’re trying to sort of ease your way in and get to know everyone. It really only takes one person to kind of make you feel comfortable and to get to know everyone else.
And Steven, I think he knew the situation that we were in and where the story was going to be going and he completely took me under his wing and brought me around and introduced me to everyone….
We’re at a time in TV where there are gay characters everywhere and the dissenting voices seem to have lost a lot of their volume. Did you think much about the fact that Aiden was a gay character going into this?
CW: Yeah. It crossed my mind and when I got the part I was like ‘okay, this is a really cool opportunity to do something.’ Growing up I had so many friends who were definitely dealing with a lot and were too afraid to be open about who they were and I think television and film is the best medium for anyone to reach a younger audience especially….When I got to the show, Michael Narducci, who’s one of the head writers, he wanted to reiterate it to me that this love interest is in no way about the gender of these two people. It’s about the factions that they come from and who they are really, their species more than anything….
What would you say is at the root of their attraction to each other and what will we see in the coming episodes?
CW: Well, you will see a lot more and I’m very, very excited about that. You always want what you can’t have. And that’s also what fuels our attraction to each other is that [Josh is] something that so off limits and so am I. And we also have our priorities [and] we both have our own separate agendas, yet we also love the fact that we’re from completely different worlds. We have so much in common and it’s a really awesome thing because, yeah, it’s very scandalous. And I think when those stakes are really high, it makes a love interest that much more passionate.
It’s a pretty decent size cast. Is there anybody that you haven’t really shared scenes with yet, that you’d like to work with?
CW: Well, I’ve shot scenes with everyone. But there are definitely actors who I’ve only done a few scenes with. Joseph, for the first part, I’ve had one scene with him and it was a very serious scene. But that guy somehow brings like this intensity and focus to the set and it makes everyone, not only the actors, not only the writers, not only the directors, but the entire crew really, really focus and it’s his professionalism that you can’t really see anywhere else. You feel this need to tell this story and it’s awesome because he cares so much about it that you do too….
What have you heard social media wise since you started on the show?
CW: It’s ‘Jaiden’ all the way. You’ve got to ship the name. But yeah, everyone is so warm and welcoming. I mean that’s been the best part about this. I’ve done other shows before, but this show has such a strong presence on social media and it’s a really amazing thing because I’ve been a bit overwhelmed by how well I’ve been received and how great it’s made me feel….
