Daddy Argent from Teen Wolf joins the DC Universe as The Flash villain on Arrow!
Once again, the casting news just keeps coming for season four of Arrow and it’s another foe for Oliver (Stephen Amell) to fight! The Wrap’s Linda Ge broke the news that Teen Wolf‘s JR Bourne will be paying the Green Arrow a visit as the DC Comics baddie Jeremy Tell a.k.a. Double Down. Tell is described as a meta-human who is able to turn his playing card tattoos into dangerous weapons and he is showing up in the third episode of season 4 that will (most likely) air on October 21.
As The Wrap also points out, Double Down is a villain from The Flash comics and has been part of the famous team The Rogues that consist of Flash baddies such as Captain Cold, Heat Wave, Weather Wizard and many more. The report doesn’t mention whether or not Bourne is set to do more episodes after his first appearance, but with an actor like him, it would be a big waste to just have him as a one-time villain. Also, how great would it be to also see him on The Flash’s second season as the Rogues will be starting to form and come together.
Bourne is the 2nd actor from the popular MTV series to enter the CW/DC Universe as his co-star Colton Haynes portrayed Roy Harper a.k.a. Arsenal for more than two seasons after departing the show in season 3. Interesting trivia about Bourne: this is his second time being in the CW/DC Universe as he guested on the popular Superman series, Smallville in season 9 as Dr. Bernard Chrisholm who was one of the humans that the Zod’s army experimented on when arriving on Earth and he later went after that army when no one would believe him that aliens had invaded.
With the casting of Bourne as Double Down. this marks as the fifth new DC Comics character that will be coming to Arrow in its fourth season, joining previously announced actors Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk (the big bad of season 4), Echo Kellum as Curtis Holt a.k.a. Mr. Terrific, Alexander Calvert as Lonnie Machin a.k.a Anarky and Jimmy Akingbola as Baron Reiter.
“After defeating his most formidable foe to date and riding off into the sunset with longtime flame Felicity Smoak, Oliver Queen (a.k.a. The Arrow) left Starling City with the hopes of beginning a new life. But will Oliver ever truly be able to leave behind his past as the Arrow, and, if so, what becomes of the team he has worked so hard to assemble? Will Diggle, Thea, and Laurel be left to continue Oliver’s crusade without him? And with Malcolm Merlyn having ascended to the top of the League of Assassins as the new Ra’s al Ghul, is anyone really safe? From Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW.”
