Parker Young, Rutina Wesley and Elysia Rotaru added to season four of Arrow!
It’s a new week which means that it’s time for more casting news for CW’s Arrow as we keep getting one after another. Today ETonline broke the news that Parker Young (Enlisted) has been cast in the role of Alex Davis. He is described by ETonline as a smart and driven young man who will be working for Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and he is potentially going to be end up as a love interest for the emerald archer’s little sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland). And by “potentially”, they totally mean “absolutely”. Alex will be a recurring guest star and knowing this show after three years, there will be most likely a major twist or two with him.
But that’s not the only casting news as The Wrap revealed hours later that True Blood actress Rutina Wesley, who is currently on Hannibal, has booked a multi-episode arc in the series’ fourth season. However, her character name wasn’t revealed in their report which means that it’s speculation time. Our gut feeling says that she will be revealed as a familiar DC Comics character, maybe during the CW Network session at the ongoing Television Critics Association summer press tour.
We also have a third piece of casting that just came out as Entertainment Weekly broke the news that Elysia Rotaru (Hellcats, Supernatural, iZombie) has joined the show as Oliver’s new love interest in flashbacks taking place in Coast City this year. Just like with Wesley, Rotaru’s role wasn’t revealed, but EW does feature a quote from show-runner and executive producer Marc Guggenheim who describes Oliver’s flashback-love interest as someone that will be act as a parallel or possibly a contrast to Oliver’s relationship with Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Richards) in the present.
Young, Wesley and Rotaru joins previously announced actors Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk (the big bad of season 4), Echo Kellum as Curtis Holt a.k.a. Mr. Terrific, Alexander Calvert as Lonnie Machin a.k.a Anarky, Jimmy Akingbola as Baron Reiter, JR Bourne as Double Down, Jeri Ryan as Jessica Danforth as well as the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow actors Falk Hentschel as Carter Hall a.k.a. Hawkman and Casper Crump as Vandal Savage that will be introduced in the next Arrow/The Flash crossover before they head over to the new series in 2016.
