Staying true to TVD style the episode’s soundtrack enhanced the audience’s emotion for each scene. It was great to see some very memorable 90’s hits used to further enhance the 90’s vibe and transport viewers back in time with them. - The Vampire Diaries Reviewer, Stephanie Flasher
The soundtrack for the second episode of The Vampire Diaries 6×02 titled, “Yellow Ledbetter,” was a nice change of pace and really fit the the episode’s 90’s retro vibe. The series music supervisor, Chris Mollere’s choice to infuse popular hits from, the 90’s into the episode was great. The fact Salt-N-Pepa’s “Whatta Man” played in the background as Damon (Ian Somerhalder) made pancakes, danced and drank bourbon was not only pleasing to the audience, but funny because, let’s face it, who doesn’t love Ian? Also REM’s “Everybody Hurts” was a perfect fit at the end of the episode as Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) called Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) just to hear her voice again and as Damon and Bonnie eat dinner and she confesses she misses their friends too.
