TV Guide reported that Vampire Diaries’ star Steven R. McQueen will be leaving the show. According to executive producer Julie Plec,”[Jeremy] is going to art school. We’ll see what his next path and journey is, [but Steven R. McQueen] is all grown-up and ready to move on, so we’re saying goodbye to him as a series regular. We got him a cake and dressed as superheroes and gave him a big party!”

Vampire Diaries’ fans who love the Gilbert family are sure to be sad with this particular news, Jeremy Gilbert has survived almost everything alongside his sister Elena so it will be a bitter-sweet departure. As for what this means for Steven R. McQueen, we know he’s been very vocal about being the comic book character Nightwing and was rumored to appear on Arrow as the character. TNT recent pick up order in 2014 for its first superhero series entitled the Titans, may prove to be an enticement for McQueen that’s hard to resist, at the very least he has a shot of auditioning for the same character twice. Currently there aren’t any casting news about who will play Dick Grayson and let’s not forget that no one really stays “gone” in The Vampire Diaries. What do you think of this latest news?
