The Vampire Diaries Season 6 – All Spell Breaks Loose Or Do They Mean All HELL Breaks Loose?
CW released the official Vampire Diaries‘ Season 6 Poster, featuring the series stars; Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert, Paul Wesley as Stefan Salvatore, Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore, Steven R. McQueen as Jeremy Gilbert, Kat Graham as Bonnie Bennett, Candice Accola as Caroline Forbes, Zach Roerig as Matt Donovan, Michael Trevino as Tyler Lockwood, Matt Davis as Alaric Saltzman and Michael Malarkey as Enzo.
The tragic events of the season 5 finale left viewers’ sobbing in disbelief. There were so many questions lert unanswered and an entire summer for us to wonder. Now, with only a mere 15 days left until the premiere of the supernatural series’ sixth season and a new TVD goodies being released we can speculate what might be coming next for the Mystic Falls gang. Here’s a few theories based on the subtle cryptic clues hidden in The Vampire Diaries Season 6 poster.
1. Back to the Future TVD Reboot
Two Clocks reminds a lot like Back to the Future. Our characters are all shown between the clock towers. The clock in the cult 80’s movie played a significant part in the film. The poster depicts not one, but two clocks and Mystic Falls only has one. So why two? And telling the exact time, but the one behind Bonnie and Damon has a glow to it. Perhaps from the moon, but its glowing on the side opposite the enormous moon. Clearly, the clocks are foreshadowing to some significant plot point, the question is what. Will we be experiencing an alternate universe in this season.
2. Pulled in All Directions
Paired of Couples: Bonnie and Damon obviously together due to the tragic events of last season leaving them trapped in a mysterious place and presumed dead by some of their friends. Bonnie seems to be clutching onto Damon, who is facing forward and appears to be on a mission, most likely returning to Elena. However, Elena is shown on the opposite side of the poster beside Stefan. He is looking to the right and appears to be trying to pull Elena in his direction, but she is looking back. Its almost like he is pulling her to move on, but she doesn’t want to or cannot. What’s even more interesting is everyone except Caroline, who appears on the ground, as if she has fallen, is in a running or let’s hurry the hell up pose. Is it just more than running out of time or being forced out of the now magic free Mystic Falls?
3. The Dark Side of the Moon
Nothing says oh shit like a full moon, nothing never happens good when a full moon arises. The full moon is always a marker for significant supernatural events. Klaus broke the ‘sun and moon’ curse on a full moon. Bonnie drew power from the full moon to lower the veil to the ‘other side.’ Let’s not forget Tyler is back to being a human with a werewolf gene, but it’s quite possible that if he kills someone again, this may very well activate the curse all over again, but this time around would be forced to change every full moon unlike when he was a hybrid and could choose if and when he wanted to transform. Maybe this season we’ll see Tyler’s real wild side.
4. Things Never Stay Buried
Graveyard has been a central focus throughout the series. Elena met Stefan in a graveyard, it was then source of a lot of Elena’s pain, the dying of her parents, Jenna and John’s memorials, Alaric’s human death and who could forget Elena’s biological mother, Isobel, taking of her daylight necklace and burning in the sun. It was especially important last season. The gang said their goodbyes to Bonnie before she took on the role as anchor to the ‘other side’ and it was where Tyler, Stefan, Alaric and Elena all returned to from the dead before the collapse of the ‘other side’. Unfortunately, Damon and Bonnie didn’t make it back in time. You can’t resurrect a body that’s not there anymore or can you? Though we’ve seen this happen since season 3 it’s quiet possible that more bodies will surface. But let’s not count out the placement of Jeremy and Tyler by the graveyard. Are they hinting at deaths yet to come?
5. ‘All Hell Breaks Loose’
‘All Spell Breaks Loose’ tagline opens up so much for Season 6 because that could mean that spells cast from season 1 could no longer hold true now. Or is this alluding to the fact Mystic Falls remains an only humans allowed, magic free zone. Our heroes cannot go back home anymore. ‘All Spell Breaks Loose’ is a play on the phrase ‘All Hell Breaks Loose.’ From the beginning, magic has been a crucial element to the series. And if its gone, what does this mean for Alaric, or Jeremy as a vampire hunter and even the vampires, their daylight rings?
