A New Villain is Coming to Supergirl!
Itallia Ricci, who was last seen on ABC Family’s Chasing Life, has been casted as Silver Banshee.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Italia is set to make her first appearance on episode 14. She will be introduced as Siobhan Smythe, Cat Grant’s (Calista Flockhart) newest hire, who from the very beginning crashes with Kara (Melissa Benoist), becoming her work nemesis.
Supergirl Executive Producer, Andrew Kreisberg said in a statement:
“We are so excited to be working with Italia. We’ve been a fan of her work for years and we cannot wait to see her take on this iconic comic book role.”
In the DC Comic Books, some of Silver Banshee’s powers and abilities include control over sound waves, multilingualism and super strength.
Supergirl seems to be taking a different turn on Ricci’s character, as in the comics Siobhan and Kara form a fast friendship after they meet. So let’s stay open minded for surprises. Maybe there’ll be a change of heart in Ricci’s character and we’ll see her fighting alongside Supergirl in the near future.
As a Chasing Life fan, I can’t wait to see Ricci on the TV screen again. And what a better show than Supergirl, where we can see strong female characters breaking the mold and proving that us girls, have what it takes to fight and be the heroes too.
