Walking Dead fans, the wait is almost over!
One month from now, the series returns with its mid-season premiere and AMC has the first look. When last we left the survivors, Alexandria had fallen and Rick and company were attempting to escape the walker horde undetected, covered in nothing more than guts, however they’ll soon face even bigger dangers than the undead.
In the later half of the season, two new human threats will arise: Gregory (Xander Berkeley) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Gregory is the leader of a gang called the Hilltop Colony; in the comics, he is hung after trying to poison Maggie. Gregory isn’t such a huge threat as Negan though. Negan leads the group called The Saviors and makes a deadly first impression in Issue #100 when he *SPOILER FOR THE COMICS* brutally beats Glenn to death with Lucille, his barbed wire covered baseball bat, as retribution for Rick killing some of his men. He is also incredibly foul-mouthed - every other word is the f-bomb.
Negan’s arrival most certainly means that no one is safe. The question is: Who will meet Lucille in the season finale? Personally, I don’t think it will be Glenn. After making the fans think he was dead only to resurrect him, it would be unwise to kill Glenn at this point in time. Plus, it would be cruel for Maggie to have and raise their child alone. For those reasons, I believe Daryl will be the one to die. How better to create shock value than to kill off perhaps the most popular character? It also seems that he is doomed because he’s currently in the clutches of none other than the Saviors, along with Abraham and Sasha, and could have been killed when he was captured by former member, Dwight.
