Guess Who: Kyra Zagorsky cast as Athena, former member of the League of Assassins, on Arrow
Ra’s al Ghul might be dead and the League of Assassins in shambles but that isn’t enough to stop them. Kyra Zagorsky was recently cast as Athena, a former member of the League of Assassins that wants to protect Malcolm Merlyn’s legacy, on The CW’s Arrow. She’ll be making her debut as the assassin later in season six of the show.
TVAD Writers Room: The Flash review plus roundtables for Arrow, Black Lightning, Supergirl, and The Flash!
The TVAD writers were busy again this past week, producing roundtables for Arrow, Black Lightning, Supergirl, and The Flash. If that wasn’t enough, they also wrote a review for the latest episode of The Flash.
First, our roundtable guests discussed the third episode of Black Lightning, “LaWanda: The Book of Burial.” They praised the quality of the writing and are looking forward to seeing more of the series. “Black Jesus” took a closer look at Jefferson trying to balance his roles as a father, principal, and masked vigilante.
Supergirl fans have a long wait ahead of them. The show is going on a nine-week (?!) hiatus and our guests were left wanting more. “Both Sides Now” acted as a finale of sorts and was the last new episode until April.
Arrow’s “The Devil’s Greatest Trick” had some major revelations regarding the season’s villain and made some large advancements in the main story. Our roundtable guests weren’t particularly happy with the continued predictable nature of the Black Siren/Quentin subplot but liked some of the twists the episode presented.
Over on The Flash, our roundtable loved the show’s return to its main storyline in “True Colors.” But they were left asking more questions than were answered. The show’s twelfth episode of the season, “Honey, I Shrunk Team Flash,” was also reviewed and given high praise:
“The best episode of the new year, and perhaps the funniest episode of the season, ‘Honey I Shrunk Team Flash’ delivered plenty of laughs and memorable gags. Plus, the show continues to prove it’s the leader in healthy relationship drama. The only thing holding it back is the continued presence of Barry’s prison storyline, which serves as a weight, pulling the show below it’s full potential.”
Interviews: Chadwick Boseman discusses the Black Panther suit and more!
Chadwick Boseman recently talked to Variety about his role as T’Challa, King of Wakanda and Black Panther. Boseman had a lot to say about the Black Panther suit, whether Ryan Coogler was the right director for the movie, and a lot more.
“I feel like it’s definitely a Ryan Coogler film. There are certain choices that are made in this movie that are distinctly his stamp on it. I can’t see another filmmaker making those decisions, because they don’t have his background, they don’t have his perspective. Having seen his other movies, this fits on that resume.”
