ICYMI: Netflix’s The Punisher renewed for a second season!

Fans of Marvel’s The Punisher on Netflix have reason to rejoice. Netflix has officially renewed the show for a second season. It’s way too early to know when the second season will be arriving on the streaming service but we’ll have more information here in Superhero After Dark once we know more!

Guess Who: Colton Haynes is returning to Arrow!
If you’re a fan of Colton Haynes‘ Roy Harper you’ll be happy to know that the actor is returning to Arrow in upcoming second half of season 6. What do the showrunners have in mind for the character’s return? Details are sketchy at the moment but they did have the following to say about Roy Harper’s return:
“Roy is called back to Star City to help resolve an urgent matter with high stakes for the team. His short visit turns into something surprising when he reunites with Thea and sparks a change in both of their lives that will have long-lasting consequences…”
Despite being mentioned on numerous occasions since then, Roy’s last appearance was in season 4 of the show.
TVAD Writers Room: A midseason finale review and roundtable for The Gifted
The midseason finale of Fox’s The Gifted recently aired and the TVAD writers covered the episode in the form of a review and roundtable. The roundtable guests mostly enjoyed the episode. While the review also pointed out some flaws in the episode, The Gifted still managed to deliver a solid midseason finale that left our reviewer wanting more.

After much speculation, Marvel’s Jessica Jones finally has a premiere date and a trailer for season 2! Krysten Ritter stars as the titular superpowered, private detective. The second season will be fully streamable on Netflix on March 8, 2018. Until then, check out the announcement trailer below!
The hype for the series premiere of The CW’s Black Lightning has continued to build. After a series of new trailers, The CW released another one in the past week. The series will star Cress Williams as the retired superhero Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning, who will be forced to come out of retirement. Black Lightning will premiere on The CW at 9/8c on January 16, 2018 after The Flash.
The midseason finale of The Gifted recently aired and now fans have been given their first look at the midseason premiere. The show is returning on January 1, 2018 at 9/8c on Fox.
After getting a look at Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson/Robin in Titans a few weeks ago, DC Entertainment recently gave us a first look at Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly as Hawk and Dove, respectively. Check out the promo image below!
Titans will be premiering in 2018 on WB and on DC Entertainment’s new streaming service.
