Interviews: Janet McTeer talks Jessica Jones season 2 and creator of Hard Sun, Neil Cross, discusses the violence on the show!
Janet McTeer is discussing her character on Netflix’s Marvel series, Jessica Jones, ahead of the shows’ highly anticipated second season. Here’s what she had to say about imagining her role in preparation for playing her still unnamed character:
“It took quite a lot of imagination. Quite a lot of hammering out a story for myself with the help of Melissa and Raelle. Lots of kind of getting the story clear in my head of what happens when and why and what the effect those things have on me — and keeping that within the bounds of reality for myself.”
Neil Cross discussed the show he created and leads, Hard Sun. The series is a new Hulu thriller series and the release has been highly anticipated among fans! When asked about the characters, he had this to say!
“I had no idea what genre or world it would take place in, but I had this relationship floating around in my head. One day, I was sorting out my vast overspill of books, boxing them up for my local charity, all while playing music. David Bowie’s ‘Five Years’ came on. But it becomes a song about in the light of our imminent destruction, everything and everyone has infinite value: all the tall and short people, all the fat and skinny people, all the nobody people and all the somebody people. Instead of becoming this self-indulgent dirge, it’s this delicately triumphant song about the value of the here and now. As I was packing my books, I realized it: that’s the world I can put these characters in.”
