Calling all horror fans! FOX’s new Fall series The Exorcist is sure to have you jumping out of your seats. Are you ready to watch a new take on a 70’s classic? We sure are.
FOX’s The Exorcist is definitely a show to look out for this year. If you are a fan of horror films or television shows, this series may be just what you’re looking for. Based off of the 1973 film, The Exorcist follows the story of the Rance family and a demonic possession taking place within their family home. With every family member encountering strange supernatural experiences, trouble begins to rise quickly. What will happen next? Here are some insiders on what fans can expect this Fall:
“This time around, evil has grander ambitions than targeting an eight-year-old girl in Georgetown…this bigger story structure will be constructed around the Rances, the family, and their relationships will remain the entry points for the audience.”
Based on what Slater stated, it definitely looks like The Exorcist will take its time introducing its storyline throughout the first season of the show. Perhaps it is better this way! Fans can now easily follow along on how this possession affects each member of the Rances.
- Expect to hear similar soundtracks used in the original Exorcist film in the series itself! Fans at Comic-Con this year hinted that at the end of the pilot, viewers will hear the film’s infamous “Tubular Bells” melody. So spooky!
- Furthermore, the two priests in the series, Father Tomas (Alfonso Herrera) and Father Marcus (Ben Daniels), are the perfect duo on screen. Entertainment news writer Erik Amaya from Bleeding Cool states that both backstories of the priests are introduced in the pilot. He also mentions that both Herrera and Daniels are standouts to watch for throughout the series’ entirety.
- Lastly, both of the articles above state that there will be a HUGE twist at the end of the pilot. What does this twist ensue? You’ll have to watch to find out!
